BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A total of 202 student-athletes were named to 2003 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll, it was announced by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive on Tuesday.
LSU had 12 men and 16 women named to the list. LSU tied Florida and South Carolina for the most men on the list (12), and had the second-most women (16), right behind Arkansas who had 17. Tennessee also had 16 women named to the honor roll. The honor roll is based on students’ grades from the 2001-02 academic year.
LSU had five repeat selections on the men’s side and three women earn the honor for the second-consecutive year.
“It is fantastic that we had so many student-athletes named to this list because it shows that our team is working just as hard in the classroom as they are in the pool,” said LSU head coach Jeff Cavana. “We were one of the schools that were near this year so that is just awesome.”
