Swam in 12 meets during the season and competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships for the fourth-straight season … Swam in two different freestyle events during the season and had the team’s second-fastest time all season in the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 50.69 at the SEC Championships … Also swam in the 100-yard butterfly and had the fifth-best time on the team (50.19) which he swam at the SEC’s … Was one of the Tigers’ most versatile swimmers on the squad … A member of the 2003 SEC Academic Honor Roll … Earned his fourth varsity letter.
JUNIOR SEASON (2001-02)
Swam in every regular season meet during the season and competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships for the third-straight season … Swam in three different events during the season … Had the team’s third-best time in both the 50 and 200-yard backstroke … Set career-best times in three different events … Swam the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 21.84 at the Texas Invitational … Swam the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:52.99 at the SEC Championships … Swam the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 51.03 … A member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the second-consecutive year … Earned his third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2000-01)
Traveled to the Southeastern Conference Championships and competed in the 100-yard breaststroke event and the 100-yard backstroke competition … Recorded the second-fastest time on the team last season in the 200-yard backstroke and the third-fastest time in the 100-yard backstroke event … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll … Member of the first-place relay team at the 2001 New Roads Triathlon where he performed the swimming leg of the competition … Provided much needed depth in numerous events, especially the butterfly, backstroke and freestyle competitions … Peer group leader in LSU’s CHAMPS lifestyles organization … Earned his second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (1999-00)
Competed in the Southeastern Conference Championships where he set personal top times in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke events … Placed 19th in the 100 backstroke, 21st in the 200 backstroke and 36th in the 50 freestyle … Finished the season with LSU’s third-best times in both the 50 (24.86) and 100-yard backstroke events … Earned his first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
A 1999 All-American in 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay at Kingwood High School … 1998 All-American in 200-yard medley relay competition … Texas All-State in the 100-yard backstroke event … Swimming and diving team captain at Kingwood High School his senior season.
