Please help us preserve the LSU Campus Mounds by staying off of these fragile and ancient cultural treasures.

The LSU Campus Mounds are unique. They are one of the few publicly accessible Mound locations in Louisiana and situated on a university campus where visitors, tourists, and sports fans can see the ancient earthen works of indigenous peoples of the region.

Previous research found the LSU Campus Mounds were built 5,500 to 6,000 years ago; recent studies now estimate they could be up to 11,000 years old, which would make them some of the oldest human-made monumental structures in the Western Hemisphere.
