Made an appearance at the SEC Championships for the third-consecutive season and finished in the top 20 in all three diving events … Best finish was second in the platform event with a score of 435.50 behind teammate and champion Barb Gorst and ahead of third-place finisher Jamie Watkins … Placed 18th in the 1-meter (214.85), and 16th in the 3-meter (408.30) at the SEC’s as well …. Placed 27th in the 1-meter competition at the NCAA Zone B Regionals at Lexington, Ky., with a score of 218.45, but failed to make the cut for the NCAA Championships … 28th in the 3-meter with a score of 233.55 … Just missed qualifying for the championships in the platform competition, finishing seventh with a score of 353.00, 22 points behind the final qualifier- Miami’s Melanie Rinaldi … Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third-straight season …. Earned her fourth varsity letter.
JUNIOR SEASON (2000-01)
Competed at the Southeastern Conference Championships for the second-straight season and placed 11th in the 10-meter platform competition, 15th in the 1-meter event, and 18th in the 3-meter competition … Earned a career-high mark of 443.75 in the 3-meter springboard diving competition at the NCAA Zone B Regional Qualifying championships … Recorded the Lady Tigers’ fourth-best scores in both the 1-meter diving event and the 10-meter platform competition … Finished the season with the team’s fifth-best finish in the 3-meter diving event … Won the LSU Academic Achievement Award which goes to the Lady Tiger with the highest overall grade point average … Earned her third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (1999-00)
Placed ninth in the platform diving competition at the NCAA Zone B Qualifying Championships with a score of 358.75 … Finished in seventh place at the Southeastern Conference Championships in the platform (369.85) diving competition, while ending up 15th in the 1-meter (358.20) event and 18th in the 3-meter (420.80) … Qualified for the Senior National Championships and finished third in the synchronized platform competition along with teammate Michelle Coryell … Member of the SEC Women’s Swimming and Diving Academic Honor Roll by maintaining a 3.936 grade point average in accounting … Co-winner of the LSU Academic Award … Earned her second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (1998-99)
Qualified for the U.S. Diving National Championships as a freshman … Top-12 finalist at the U.S. Diving Zone “B” Championships in the 1-meter springboard competition … Earned the LSU “Coaches Award”, as one of the hardest working and most dedicated players on the team … Received her first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
Was both a swimmer and diver at MacArthur High School … Senior National Qualifier on the platform … Senior National Finalist in synchronized diving from the platform … Four-year letter-winner in both swimming and synchronized diving … Named Most Valuable Performer her senior season at MacArthur High School … State qualifier each of her four years at MacArthur High … Named a high school All-American during her senior season … Placed first at the regional championships and sixth in the state finals in the 1-meter diving event … Regional qualifier in the 50-yard freestyle.
PERSONAL
Born July 24, 1980 … Parents are Rick Winters and Barbara Pennington … Her father Rick once held the world’s high-dive record, while her mother Barbara was the first female to dive from the cliffs of Acapulco, Mexico … Graduated in May of 2002 in information systems and decision sciences.
