Men’s Golf Finishes Round Two of LSU Invitational

Baton Rouge, La. – The LSU men’s golf team shot a 13-over 301 Saturday during the second round of the LSU Invitational at the University Club.

Michael Sanders (ind.) had the third lowest round of the day on the course with his 4-under 68. He started on No. 10 and went out with three birdies and six pars for a 3-under 33. He stumbled a bit on holes No. 1 and No. 2, but responded with four birdies, two pars, and a bogey on his final seven holes to turn in a 1-under 35. It was the lowest round of the season for Sanders and it featured the most birdies of his collegiate career in a round with seven. He is in a tie for seventh after two days of play at 1-over 145.

Trey Winstead and Chris Woollam (ind.) turned in rounds of 1-over 73s. LSU’s other members of the starting lineup scored as follows: Garrett Barber (+3), Drew Doyle (+4), Nicholas Arcement (+5) and Connor Gaunt (+8). Hayden White (ind.) was the final competitor for LSU and he shot 6-over.

LSU is in 14th place at 31-over par. Florida is the team leader at 3-over and Jackson Suber of Ole Miss has the solo lead at 4-under par.

Round three will begin for LSU at 8:30 a.m. CT with Hayden White teeing off No. 10. Chris Woollam goes off No. 10 at 8:50 a.m. and then Michael Sanders will tee off at 9:10 a.m. CT. LSU’s starting five will begin play at 9:20 a.m. CT off hole No. 10.
