SENIOR SEASON (2022-23)
Gaunt played 29 rounds in 10 events for the Tigers in his senior season… Averaged 73.45 and shot par or better in 10 rounds… Gaunt’s highest finish of the season came in October at the Purdue Fall Invitational where he shot a (-1) 215 to finish T5 in a field of 75… The lowest round of his season (68) was in round 2 of the Fighting Irish Invitational… Gaunt graduated in May with a degree in general business…
JUNIOR SEASON (2021-22)
Saw action in 15 rounds this season, averaging 73.13 strokes per round … Best finish was T11 at 1-under par 215 in the Turning Stone Intercollegiate (9/5-6) … Had low round for season of 67 in the middle of the tournament … Three rounds in the 60s … Also posted -1 215 in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate (9/12-14) and Louisiana Classic (3/14-15) … 45 career rounds in two seasons with 16 total rounds for two seasons at LSU of par or under … Career stroke average of 73.44 with two career top 10 finishes … In the summer of 2022, won the Arkansas Amateur Championship with a three-round total of 10-under 200 (65-66-69) … Also advanced through qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Championship.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2020-21)
Represented LSU at all 10 tournaments … averaged 73.6 strokes per round … had one eagle on the season … totaled 92 birdies on the season … 20 of his 30 rounds counted towards LSU’s team score … low round of the year was a 5-under 65 at the first round of the SEC Championship … LSU’s highest finisher at the SEC Championship with a 1-over 211 to tie for seventh … took a tie for eighth at the Vanderbilt Legends Intercollegiate with a 9-under 204 … placed 18th at the Florida Gators Invitational with a three round tally of 5-under 205.
PRIOR TO LSU
Played at Arkansas Tech as a freshman during 2019-20 season … averaged 72.39 strokes per round … 10 of his 18 rounds were even par or better … best finish was a tie for 10th at the Newberry College Invitational … he registered five top-20 finishes in five of his seven tournaments played … low round of collegiate career was 4-under 67 at NSU Golf Classic … played prep golf at Cabot High School in Arkansas … two-time Arkansas State Golf Association Player of the Year … two individual state titles in 2018 and 2019 during his time at Cabot.
