SENIOR SEASON (2023-2024)
Finished final season at LSU with a scoring average of 71.95 over 22 competitive rounds…Best finish of the season came at the Hootie Bulls Bay where Doyle wrapped up the tournament at T4th place while shooting a 5-under 211 over 54 holes…Lowest round of the season came in the Hal Williams Collegiate where Doyle registered a 3-under 68…Was named to the LSWA All-Louisiana First-Team for the second time in his LSU career.
JUNIOR SEASON (2022-23)
Led the team with an average of 71.11 in a team high 36 rounds… Doyle was the only Tiger to appear in all 12 events… Also led LSU with 6 top ten finishes, half inside the top five… Best finish was at the Louisiana Classics where he finished T2 after shooting (73-72-71) … Doyle finished T3 at -9 (207) at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate… The junior finished in solo 4th place at the Purdue Fall Invitational after carding a -2 (72-67-75) … Other top ten finishes include T6 at All-American Intercollegiate, T7 at the Isleworth Collegiate, and T7 in his final appearance of the season at the NCAA Norman Regional with a -8 (208) … His best round of the season was in round two of SEC Match Play when he fired a 64 to put him T4 in all-time low rounds… 4th in career stroke average with 71.75 after 84 rounds… His 2022-23 stroke average of 71.11 puts him at 2nd best in LSU’s history behind Sam Burns’ 70.05…
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2021-22)
Competed in 24 rounds, averaging 72.33 this past year with 12 rounds of par or under during the year … T1 finish in The Hayt (3/27-28) with -6 210 (72-72-66) … Posted two other top five finishes T5 in both the SEC Championship Stroke Play and the NCAA Stockton Regional … Posted a combined 11-under par over the six rounds shooting -3 207 in the SECs (67-70-70) and -8 208 in the NCAAs (73-65-70) … 65 was career low rounds at LSU … Also finished 10th in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate (9/12-14) with -4 212 … Four rounds in the 60s … In 48 career rounds, averaged 72.40 … 24 career rounds of par or under … Second-team All-Louisiana selection … In the summer of 2022, advanced through qualifying to the U. S. Amateur.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2020-21)
Played in eight tournaments for LSU while averaging 72.46 strokes per round … 18 of his 24 rounds counted towards LSU’s team score … best finish of the season came at the Old Waverly Collegiate with a 1-under 215 to tie for 16th … finished under par at the Tiger Invitational with a 1-under 215 to tie for 27th … finished in 27th at the SEC Championship with a 5-over 215 … low round of the year was a 2-under 70 three times … made 66 birdies on the season with a high of five in a round twice … also registered top 30 finish at The Collegiate Invitational with a 6-over 219.
PRIOR TO LSU
Doyle signed his letter of intent as the 73rd-ranked player on the AJGA circuit. Kentucky’s Mr. Golf in 2017, Doyle is a three-time KHSAA First Team All-State honoree in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In the high school ranks, he was named the 2019 KHSAA Region Six Player of the Year while competing for St. Xavier High School. He claimed an AJGA title this July at the Circle K Junior Championship hosted by Otter Creek with a 9-under 207 (67-68-72) to finish four shots clear of the field. He had a pair of impressive top-10 finishes this summer at junior tournaments; he placed tied for fourth at the Memorial Junior (Columbus, Ohio/Scarlet Course) and tied for ninth at the Southern Junior Championship (Lexington, Ky./Idle Hour Country Club). He’s played well on the big stage with a tie for ninth at the 2018 Boys Junior PGA Championship that was hosted at the Valhalla Country Club in Louisville, Ky. He became the youngest player to ever qualify for the Kentucky Amateur Championship as a 13-year-old; he went on to claim the 2016 Kentucky Junior Amateur title with a 1-over 145 at the Bardstown Country Club.
