BATON ROUGE – Members of the LSU Swimming and Diving team took a break from their busy training schedule on Thursday to visit children at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. Sixteen swimmers spent time cheering up the kids by visiting with them, playing games and handing out posters.
“Today was a lot of fun,” said junior Shanna Spears. “It made us all realize how lucky we are to have our health, but also how important it is to help others in our society who may not be as fortunate. It was an amazing feeling seeing the kids smile and laugh while we visited with them.”
Other members who participated were Brooke Barnett, Mary Beck, Kaelee Mader, Jana Ruimerman, Todd Burford, Timmy Dasinger, Luis Gonzalez, Clint Hallum, Craig Hamilton, James Meyers, Andrew Reynolds, Sean Roddy, Lamar Weeks and Zack Wepasnick.
Coaches Dave Geyer, Liam Gallagher and Jessica Botzum also were present.
