CAREER (2007-11)
Proved to be a fine backstroker and a stellar leader throughout his career … A member of four honorable mention All-America relay squads in 2010 … Held the team’s fastest time in the 100 backstroke in his sophomore and junior seasons and ranks second all-time at LSU in the event … Also possesses a program top-10 time in the 100 butterfly … A two-time SEC finalist in the 100 back … Served as a team co-captain in both his junior and senior seasons.
SENIOR SEASON (2010-11)
Held the team’s second-best times in the 100 back and 100 fly and also a valuable relay contributor … Competed in every dual meet, Cougar Classic Invitational, SEC Championships and Georgia’s Last Chance Meet … Recorded 10th in the 100 back at SEC’s with a season best of 47.83 and took 16th in the 100 fly after qualifying with a season best of 47.80 … Also registered 18th in the 200 back (1:48.56) and led off the men’s fourth-place 200 medley relay … Swam the backstroke leg on the team’s 200 medley relay at the Last Chance Meet, which posted a season best ‘B’ cut of 1:26.14 … Won the 100 back at the Cougar Classic (49.70) and claimed third in the 100 fly (49.68) … Raced to victory in the 100 back at Texas A&M (49.42) and in a win over Incarnate Word on Senior Day … Placed second in the 100 back versus both Florida State and nationally-ranked Florida … Delivered third in the 100 back at the Florida Atlantic Invite … Served as a team co-captain for the second consecutive year … Earned his fourth varsity letter.
JUNIOR SEASON (2009-10)
One of four athletes to earn multiple honorable mention All-America accolades at the 2010 NCAA Championships … Also LSU’s fastest 100-yard backstroker … Competed in every dual meet, Houston’s Cougar Classic Fall Invitational, SEC Championships and NCAA’s … Helped four relay squads capture All-America status at NCAA’s with top-16 finishes … Led off the men’s 15th-place 400 medley relay (3:11.61) with a season-best split of 47.46 in the 100 back … Also led off the squad’s 14th-place 200 medley relay (1:27.32) and played a role on the team’s 15th-place 200 freestyle relay (1:19.51) and 16th-place 400 freestyle relay (2:55.78) … Earned his second straight top-eight finish in the 100 back at SEC’s, taking sixth overall (47.61) … Placed 20th in the 100 butterfly and 28th in the 50 free with season bests of 48.84 and 20.45, respectively … Swam the lead-off leg of the men’s third-place 200 medley relay, which shattered the school record with a 1:26.00 clocking … Also a member of two other top-five relays at the conference meet … Delivered third-place in the 100 back at the Cougar Classic and won the consolation final of both the 100 fly and 200 back … Emerged victorious in the 100 back versus both Florida State and UNO … Registered runner-up finishes in the 100 back against both Alabama and Florida State … Posted third in the 100 back at nationally-ranked Florida … Received his third varsity letter.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2008-09)
Emerged as one of the Tigers’ best swimmers down the stretch … Competed in every dual meet, Texas A&M’s Art Adamson Invitational and SEC Championships … Tapered extremely well for post-season and enjoyed the finest meet of his young career at SEC’s … Captured fifth overall in the 100 backstroke with the second-fastest time in school history, 47.13 … Secured 13th-place in the 100 butterfly with a personal best of 47.47 … Swam the backstroke leg of the school’s record-setting 400 medley relay (3:10.54), which earned a spot on the medal podium with a third-place finish … Also recorded a personal best in the 50 free, 20.31, to place 23rd … Won the consolation final of the 100 back at the Art Adamson Invitational with a mark of 48.97 … Claimed first-place in the ‘C’ final of the 100 fly (17th overall) … Part of a 1-2 LSU finish in the 100 fly on the road at Texas A&M, which helped the team hold on to a close victory … Also finished third in the 100 back … Took third in the 100 back in a win over No. 24 Kentucky … Awarded the LSU men’s Most Improved Swimmer Award at the program’s annual banquet … Earned his second varsity letter.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2007-08)
Competed in freestyle, butterfly and backstroke events … Participated in every dual meet, the Georgia Tech Invitational and SEC Championships … Posted season-best marks in the 50 free (20.55) and 100 free (45.08) at SEC’s … Also tallied an LSU all-time top-10 mark in the 100 back (49.93) … Spearheaded a victory in the 200 freestyle relay at Florida with a 20.00 split … Played a role on two other winning relay squads during the dual-meet season … Recorded a 12th-place finish in the 50 free at the Georgia Tech Invitational … Notched runner-up honors against South Carolina in the 50 free … Placed third in both the 50 and 100 free in a dual-meet victory over Florida State … Earned his first varsity letter.
PRIOR TO LSU
A local product and one of the top freestyle swimmers in the state … A three-time All-American at St. Michael’s High School … Posted state records in the 50 free and 100 free while earning All-metro and All-state honors … Held the fastest 50-free time in the 2007 Capital City Swim and ranked second in the 100 free … Brings in career-best times of 20.80 and 46.10 in the 50 and 100 free, respectively … Also swam for Tiger Aquatics
