2018 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll

Served as the second baseman in all 62 games for the Tigers in her junior season … as a reliable defensive player in the Tiger lineup Schulte recorded a .964 fielding percentage with 134 putouts and 110 assists … was 10-11 on stolen base attempts, which gave her the second most stolen bases on the season for the Tigers … in 145 at-bats on the season for Schulte she recorded 24 hits with 22 walks and a .283 on base percentage … her eight doubles on the year was third most on the team … against Pacific University (February 22nd) she had a career high three hits including a home run and three RBI … on March 9th in the SEC opener vs. Auburn Schulte hit a walk-off single into left field in the bottom of the 14th inning … during the Ole Miss 19 inning game Schulte claimed an LSU record 10 assists in one game.

Played for Butler CC (El Dorado, Kan.) and head coach Doug Chance, the No. 1 ranked team in the community college ranks… Butler went 111-5 in Schulte’s two years, including an 88-game winning streak… She helped lead the team to back-to-back NJCAA National Championships and was named the 2017 NJCAA Division I Championship MVP… Hit .433 as a sophomore through 59 games with 26 homeruns and 108 RBIs…Scored 87 runs and on-base percentage of .478 to go along with a .906 slugging percentage and a 1.384 OPS…In her freshman season, the team went 53-4 and Schulte’s batting line included 70 runs scored, 16 home runs and 73 RBIs… Finished her career as the Grizzlies’ all-time leader in home runs (42), RBI (181) and runs scored (157)… She also finished second all-time in hits (165), third in triples (7) and fourth in batting average (.435).

Played at Andover Central HS…First team all-state and a 2015 Wichita Eagle All-Metro selection as a senior…Second team all-state as a junior and sophomore…Honorable mention all-state as a freshman…Also played basketball and volleyball…Averaged 10.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a senior on the hardwood.

Full name is Rebecca Marie Schulte, born on Feb. 17 in Wichita, Kansas… Parents are Matt and Carmen…Older brother Zach played football at Friends University in Wichita…Younger sister Beth plays volleyball in high school… Majoring in sports administration.
