Appeared in six games, starting twice … Connected on 88-of-150 passes for 1,069 yards, 8 TDs and only one interception … Added 119 rushing yards and a pair of TDs … Took over the starting quarterback duties for the Tigers in week 9 against Florida and rallied LSU to back-to-back wins over the Gators and Ole Miss to close out the season … Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in LSU’s 37-34 win over No. 6 Florida in Gainesville in what was his first career start … Against Florida, completed 21-of-36 passes for 239 yards and 3 TDs and added another 52 rushing yards … Became the first LSU quarterback to throw 3 TD passes against Florida in the Swamp … With game tied at 34-34, led LSU on a 9-play, 36-yard drive capped with Cade York’s 57-yard field goal with 23 seconds left in the game to secure the victory over Florida … A week later in his first Tiger Stadium start, completed 27-of-51 passes for 435 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Ole Miss … Added 45 rushing yards and a pair of rushing TDs in the win over the Rebels … His top target against Ole Miss was fellow true freshman Kayshon Boutte, who set the SEC single-game record with 308 receiving yards on 14 catches … The 435 passing yards vs. Ole Miss rank No. 8 all-time in LSU history and stand as the most-ever by a freshman quarterback … Joined Joe Burrow (4 times), Rohan Davey (2 times), Tommy Hodson (1 time) and Myles Brennan (1 time) as the only players in LSU history to pass for 400 or more yards in a game … His 490 yards of total offense (435 passing, 45 rushing) rank as the fifth-highest single-game total in school history … Made his college debut against South Carolina, rushing twice for 19 yards … Saw first extensive action against Auburn when he came off the bench to pass for 172 yards and 1 TD … Also saw action against Texas A&M (113 passing yards, 1 TD) and Alabama (110 passing yards) before being inserted into the starting lineup against Florida.

PERSONAL
Son of Super Bowl-winning quarterback Brad Johnson and is the nephew of former Georgia and Miami head coach Mark Richt … Dad played quarterback at Florida State and then was the starting quarterback in Tampa Bay’s win over Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII… His mom Nikki was a standout volleyball player at South Florida, setting school record for kills (1,726), digs (1,462) and hitting percentage (.303) during her career.
