Keonte’ Herrera joined the LSU Communications staff in September 2021. He is the primary communications contact for volleyball and softball.

Prior to LSU, Herrera had a two and a half year stint at Texas State University, where he covered six championship runs, including three for the volleyball program (2019-20), two for track and field (2019) and one for men’s basketball (2020-21).

Herrera began his career in the NCAA Division II ranks with stops at Texas A&M University-Commerce (2015), Texas A&M University-Kingsville (2016-18) and St. Edward’s University (2018).

Herrera has been an active member of College Sports Communicators (formally known as CoSIDA) since 2015 and currently sits as the Vice Chair of the Job Seekers Committee as well as a participant of the CSC U Committee. Herrera is also a member of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), serving on the Awards Committee, and assists with the Black College Sports Information Directors of America (BCSIDA) organization.

The Louisiana native graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.S. in Kinesiology in 2014 and received his M.Ed. in 2016 from Angelo State University in Coaching, Sport, Recreation, and Fitness Administration.

Herrera is married to Priscilla [Velasquez] Herrera, a four-year softball letterman and C-USA MVP (2011) at East Carolina University. The couple and their children, Malakai and Ariella, reside in Baton Rouge.
