SENIOR SEASON (2018)
A starter in center field for all 62 games for the Tigers … in 194 at-bats she recorded a .284 batting average and a .375 on-base percentage … batted in 25 runs and scored 28 on the year … had the third most hits on the team with 55 and only struck out 14 times this season … was four of five on stolen base attempts … led the team with 29 walks and two triples … had a .984 fielding percentage and only one error throughout the year … Griggs this year recorded 14 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games … on February 24th vs. Fresno State she hit her first home run of her career and a double with two RBI as well as scoring three runs … against BYU (March 22nd) she hit a walk-off single to right field in the bottom of the 12th inning … on April 13th Griggs tied her career high with four hits against Tennessee … was the leader for active Division I players with 264 games played … selected to the Scrap Yard Fast Pitch roster.

JUNIOR SEASON (2017)
Started and played in all 70 games … Recorded a .317 overall batting average … Scored 43 runs throughout the course of the season … Tallied a career best 27 RBI … Compiled a career best 80 total bases, which was third best on the team … Stole six bases on nine attempts … Amassed 16 multi-hit, 10 multi-run and seven multi-RBI games … Achieved perfection in the field with a 1.000 fielding percentage with 83 putouts and two assists … Hit .380 in the month of February and scored 19 runs during the month … Went 2-4 in a special hometown appearance against Wichita State with two runs and one RBI … Recorded three or more hits in three consecutive postseason games … Hit an astonishing .667 during the Baton Rouge Regional … Went 12-18 with five runs scored and six RBI … Had a stretch of 10 consecutive hits during regional play, a feat that had only been accomplished 13 times in NCAA history entering the 2017 season … Tallied three RBI against McNeese State in the Baton Rouge Regional while getting four hits and scoring two runs … Recorded a .367 average during the postseason while scoring eight runs and collecting eight RBI … Hit safely in eleven consecutive postseason games stretching from the SEC Tournament to the WCWS.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2016)
Started all 70 of LSU’s games in the outfield, one of four LSU players on the year to do so, earning 64 starts in centerfield and six in left field… Hit .294 at the plate with 63 hits, fifth-most on the team, with seven doubles and two triples… Was fifth on the team in multi-hit games with 16, earning 12 games with two hits and four games with three hits… Drove in 16 and scored 50 times which was third on the year… Had five multi-RBI games, all with two RBIs… Went on an eight game hitting streak during the season, while reaching base safely in 16 consecutive games… Had a slugging percentage of .346 with a .371 on-base percentage, finishing 6-for-8 in stolen bases… Led the team with sacrifice bunts with seven… Scored three times in the season opener against Ohio State with a base hit… Had a double and a run scored against Pacific… Scored twice against Bethune-Cookman with a hit and pair of walks… Went 2-for-4 against Illinois State with a run scored… Was 2-for-4 against Texas Tech with a run scored… Was a perfect 3-for-3 against Memphis with an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored… Was 3-for-3 against Tennessee Tech with two doubles, RBI and run scored… Was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored in the second game of a tournament against Tennessee Tech… Went 3-for-4 with a run scored in the SEC series opener against Alabama… Went 2-for-4 at Louisiana Tech with two RBIs, two walks and three runs scored… Earned two hits in three consecutive games against Mississippi State and Northwestern State… Drove in a pair of runs in the first two games of the series against South Carolina at home… Was 2-for-2 with two runs scored against McNeese State… In the NCAA tournament went 2-for-3 against McNeese State with two runs scored… Was 2-for-3 with a run scored in the Women’s College World Series against Oklahoma.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2015)
In her debut campaign played in 62 of LSU’s 66 total matches, making 61 starts all in left field for the Tigers… Was named to the 2015 SEC All-Freshman Team and an honorable mention All-Louisiana pick… Finished the season fourth on the team in batting average, hitting .343 with 48 hits on the year with four doubles and two triples… Had 15 RBIs and 35 runs scored, finishing second on the team in stolen bases with 14 on 17 attempts… Drew 22 walks on the season with four sacrifice hits, earning a .432 on-base percentage… Had 11 multi-hit games with nine games of two hits and two games with three hits… Drove in two runs twice on the year… Longest hitting streak of the year was six games, while she reached base in 18 consecutive games which was tied for the third longest on the team on the season… Earned her first hit in her very first collegiate game in the season opener against Memphis… Went 2-for-2 with an RBI and three stolen bases against NC State… Had two hits in three at-bats with a run scored against Arizona during the regular season… Went 2-for-2 against Stephen F. Austin with a run scored… Earned her first multiple RBI game in the series opener against Arkansas going 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two runs scored… Went 2-for-3 against Arkansas with an RBI and run scored in game two against the Razorbacks…. Had one of her best games of the season in the finale against Kentucky, going 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI… Went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in the first game of the series against Ole Miss… Went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, RBI and a run scored in the second game against Texas A&M… Was a steady 2-for-2 against Auburn in game two of the series… Crossed the plate a season-high three times in the finale against Auburn, going 1-for-2 in the contest… Went 2-for-4 with an RBI against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament… Drove in two on a double in her only hit of the night in the win over Texas Southern and scoring twice… Went 2-for-3 with a run scored against Arizona State… Led LSU at the plate in the Women’s College World Series, hitting .455, tying for the team lead in hits with five and leading the group with a .455 on-base percentage and finishing second in slugging at .455… Went 3-for-3 in the WCWS opener against Auburn… Scored once while going 1-for-3 against Alabama.

HIGH SCHOOL
Lettered all four years at Maize High School under head coach Jenny Meirowsky in Wichita, Kansas, where she won the Ark Valley Chisolm Trail league championship four consecutive years… Played in 87 games during her prep career, earning 181 hits in 294 total at-bats, finishing with a lifetime hitting average of .616 at the plate… Had 22 doubles, seven triples and two home runs offensively, driving in 81 RBI with 151 runs scored while striking out just nine times… Was 52-for-58 in stolen bases with a .662 on-base percentage… Owns the Kansas state record for total hits, singles (150) and runs scored… Was a four-time first team all-league and all-state selection, three-time all-metro selection and winner of the league most valuable player award twice… Was a 2014 MaxPreps preseason All-American, while three times finishing the season as an NFCA All-Region pick…  As a senior won the Max Hambleton Preseason Female Athlete Award for the second time, while making the MaxPreps Preseason All-American team and NFCA All-Region team as a senior… Won the Max Hambleton Preseason Female Athlete Award for the first time as a junior, while also taking home the Max Preps All-American Underclassman Award… Secured first team honors in the league and on the state level, while also earning all-metro honors as a sophomore… Was named the ESPN RISE Player of the Week as a freshman, earning NFCA All-Region honors, first team all-league and second team all-state honors at second base… Was a member of the Captain’s Council.

Full name is Emily Michelle Griggs, born June 20 in Wichita, Kansas… Daughter of Mark and Jana Griggs… Has three siblings in Rebecca (24), Meghan (21) and Hannah (15)… Rebecca graduated from LSU in 2012… Father played minor league baseball for the New Haven Yankees… Majoring in engineering.
