Named to the Preseason All-SEC softball team … Postseason accolades included a spot on the NFCA South All-Region team … Garnered recognition from the SEC with a spot on the All-Defensive team … The Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) named her to the LWSA-Second team … Appeared in 26 games and started in 16 as a pitcher, but started in 56 games total slotted at designated player … Multi-faceted athlete, starting in the circle and stepping up to the plate in the same game … Finished the year with a 11-7 record and a 2.04 ERA, second-best on the team … Tossed 126.2 inning and threw 10 complete games with one shutout … Tallied 84 strikeouts and only allowed 32 walks on the season … Her opponent batting average finished at .232 and only came behind Ali Kilponen … Allowed only three earned runs during the month of February (27.2 innings pitched) … At the plate, she finished the year with a .234 batting average and tallied six doubles, two triples and eight home runs … Slugged at a .500 clip, which is second on the team … Led the team in walks with 32 … Threw a complete eight-inning game against Texas on March 6, allowing four hits and one run … In the same matchup, she collected two base hits … In the winner’s bracket game of the Baton Rouge regional against UL-Lafayette, she went 3-for-4 and was a triple shy of the cycle, tallying a home run, single and a double … Pitched a complete game shutout against Ole Miss on April 1 … Recorded three putouts and tallied 24 assists in 29 chances.

JUNIOR SEASON (2020) – Season was cut short due to the coronavirus
Started all 24 games for the Tigers as the designated hitter or in the circle … Made six starts in the circle and 18 as the designated hitter … Went 6-0 in the circle in eight appearances with a 1.20 ERA which was 12th in the SEC and contributed to the No. 1 team ERA in the nation of 0.95 … Tallied 26 strikeouts in 35 innings of work with a .202 opposing batting average … Earned her first shutout of the season on Feb. 8 against Florida A&M, tallying a season-high six strikeouts in the five inning win … Threw a combined shutout with Taylor Edwards on March 6 against Campbell and recorded two strikeouts … Finished the year with a .328 batting average, a .368 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage … Tallied 19 hits with five doubles, a triple and a home run … Recorded 18 RBI and 29 total bases to go along with eight runs scored … Went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double and a home run against LA Tech on Feb. 19 … Had a season-high four RBI against Sam Houston State on Feb. 22 … Had four two-hit games on the year and had an RBI in five straight games from Feb. 29 to March 8 … Had four sac flies on the year which was tied for first in the SEC with Morgan Cummins and third in the nation.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2019)
Made 32 appearances and started 19 times in the circle for the Tigers … Had 86 strikeouts on the year and allowed only 59 runs in 137.2 innings pitched … She finished with a 13-10 record and had five saves … Had a 2.34 earned runs average and recorded five shut outs … Held her opponents to a .218 batting average She was also a lead batter for the Tigers, batting in 60 of the 62 games … She finished fourth on the team with a .340 batting average … Led the team in RBI with 60 total and tied for first on the team in home runs with 17 … Ranked eighth in the SEC and 28th in the nation for homeruns … Had 54 hits in 159 at-bats and scored 30 runs for the Tigers … Had a .468 on base percentage … Led the team in multiple RBI games with 17 total and had 12 total multiple hit games … Hit two runs in a single game against Tulsa (Feb. 8) … Ranked fourth in the SEC and 17th in the nation for RBI … Ranked fifth in the SEC and 29th in the nation for her .778 slugging percentage … Had a career day against Memphis on February 22nd when she struck out 10 batters with 95 total pitches and allowed only two hits in seven innings … Recorded a season-high four RBI on two occasions … Ended her first season victory with a strikeout against Tulsa when she collected six strikeouts on the day … Helped the Tigers claim the series against Georgia when she hit her 13th home run on the year to tie up the game and eventually win … Recorded four RBI on three hits in the Baton Rouge Regional … Had a career game against Texas Tech when she pitched 13 full innings for a total 179 pitches and only gave up four runs … In the regional championship against Texas Tech, she hit a three-run home run, her 17th on the year, to give the Tigers a 5-1 lead and eventually the win.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2018)
Appeared in 36 games this season with 34 starts … missed three weeks of action due to injury at the beginning of the season, but when she returned she solidified her place in the Tiger lineup at the designated player position … she had 24 hits in 92 at-bats with a .261 batting average and a .358 on-base percentage … hit the second most home runs on the team with seven and had six doubles this season … scored 12 runs and drove in 14 RBI … appeared in five games as a pitcher and started two … posted a 3.68 earned run average holding her opponents to a .224 batting average and striking out six batters in 13.1 innings of work … she received the first start of her career on February 9th against UT Arlington where she pitched a seven inning complete game victory throwing 134 pitches and striking out one batter … in the bottom of the seventh inning against Ole Miss on April 7th Sunseri stepped to the plate with the game tied and hit a walk-off home run over the right field fence on the first pitch she saw to win the game for Tigers 1-0.

HIGH SCHOOL
Was a four-year letterwinner in softball under head coach Katie Roberts at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas … During her prep career as a pitcher and first baseman, Sunseri was a four-time District MVP, three-time Academic All-District selection, Gatorade Player of the Year nominee, four-time Galveston County Player of the Year, three-time THSGCA 5A All-State selection, three-time NFCA All-American, four-time team MVP, three-time All-Greater Houston honoree, and a three-time TSWA All-State selection … During her senior season, she hit .541 with 40 hits, 48 total RBI and 10 home runs … As a senior pitcher, she finished the year with a 1.21 ERA, including 215 strikeouts in 155 innings of work for a 24-4 record … During her junior season, she hit .461 with 41 hits in 89 at-bats with 39 total RBI and five home runs … As a junior pitcher, she finished the year with a 0.88 ERA, including 293 strikeouts in 174.1 innings of work for a 24-6 record … As a sophomore, she pitched a total of 221.1 innings and tallied 329 strikeouts for a 29-7 record and a 0.69 ERA … At the plate during her sophomore season, she hit .454 with 44 hits, 38 RBI and 15 doubles … As a freshman, she registered a .336 batting average with 25 RBI and 36 hits … Was also an honor roll student, a National Honor Society member, part of Student Council, a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee and was a member of the Students Against Destructive Decisions club … Sunseri was named a PGF East All-American and participated in the Triple Crown Sports All-American Game during her final summer season with the Texas Bombers.
