SENIOR SEASON (2021)
Toed the rubber in the circle 15 times and started for the Tigers in 10 of her appearances … She finished the season with a 4.54 earned run average with 23 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched … Early in the season at UL-Lafayette on Feb. 25, she threw a complete game shutout while only allowing two hits and picking up four strikeouts … Consistent in the strike zone, walking 19 batters, a team low among pitchers with 40 or more IP … Picked up two wins against the Ragin’ Cajuns in back-to-back matchups in late March.
SENIOR SEASON (2020) – Season was cut short due to the coronavirus
Saw action in the circle seven times with six starts … Finished the year with a 4-1 record and a 1.15 ERA which was the third best on the team and eighth in the SEC … Contributed to the best ERA in the country at 0.95 … Tallied 42 strikeouts in 36.2 innings pitched … Finished the year with a .143 opposing batting average which was fourth in the conference … Averaged 3.44 hits allowed per seven innings which was ninth in the country … Threw the first perfect game in program history on Feb. 22 against Belmont with 21 first-pitch strikes and a career-high of 16 strikeouts … Along with the perfect game, she also has another shutouts coming against LA Tech on Feb. 19 … Opened her senior season with a complete game win over No. 13 Oklahoma State, tallying seven strikeouts.
JUNIOR SEASON (2019)
Appeared in 27 games this season and started 21 compiling a record of (13-4) with one save … She had a 2.52 earned run average holding her opponents to a .199 batting average … Had a team-high seven shutouts on the season … Out of 111.0 innings pitched she struck out 61 batters and recorded 10 complete games on the season … She had a season-high seven strikeouts against Stephen F. Austin (March 2), and allowed no runs … In the Tigers’ run-rule victory over Troy she had five strikeouts and allowed only one hit in the five innings … Facing Georgia on March 23, she struck out three batters in the last two innings and recorded her first career save in the circle … She recorded six shut outs on the season with the first being against Kent St. (Feb. 26) when she struck out two and allowed only two hits.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018)
Served as the third pitcher in the Tigers stellar pitching rotation … appeared in 17 games this season and started 14 compiling a record of (9-3)… Gorsuch had a 2.10 earned run average holding her opponents to a .218 batting average … in 80 innings pitched she struck out 57 batters and recorded six complete games for the Tigers … on March 2nd against Illinois State Gorsuch had a career day pitching 10 shutout innings with 12 strikeouts on 160 total pitches, while only giving up one hit on the day … facing Florida the number five team in the nation on April 28th she had her most impressive performance of her career shutting out the gators throwing 115 pitches in six and a third innings pitched.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017)
Started six games and appeared in nine total … Finished the season with a 5.00 ERA … Had a record of 3-1 and three complete games … In 28.0 total innings pitched she gave up 29 hits and 20 earned runs … Pitched five innings for a complete game against Bethune-Cookman giving up three hits, three runs only one earned, and five strikeouts … Struck out seven in her complete game victory against Illinois State giving up just two earned runs … Gave up only one earned run against Louisiana Monroe in her five-inning complete game victory … Gave the team a gutty relief performance versus South Carolina in May throwing 5.1 innings while allowing only four hits and two earned runs.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year letterwinner as a pitcher and first base at Lewisville High School in Texas under coach Lori Alexander… Won over 70 games in the circle during her prep career, winning a state championship in 2013 and finishing as runner-up in 2015… As a junior in 2015 went 24-5, ending the year with a 0.90 ERA and 343 strikeouts in 210 innings of work in being named All-State and All-Area Player of the year… In 2013 was named the state tournament most valuable player and the all-tournament team, All-State and the All-Area Player of the year… Was named a MaxPreps High School All-American in 2015 and MaxPreps Underclassman All-American… Was on the school’s student council and a member of the student leadership mentoring program.

Full name is Maribeth Mackenzie Gorsuch, born February 19 in Dallas, Texas … Daughter of Doug and Stacy… Has two brothers Charlie and Allen … Graduated with a degree in sport administration … Hired as the Assistant Softball Coach at Grand Canyon University.
