Started all 13 games at center for the Tigers in 2021 … Ran his streak of consecutive starts at LSU to 23 … Started all 10 games at center in 2020 after transferring from Harvard … Played every offensive snap in SEC play … Played season-high 86 snaps against Arkansas … Had best grade among LSU offensive linemen in win over Mississippi State … Had best grade for LSU offensive linemen against Kentucky on 74 snaps … Had tremendous all-around game in near-win at Alabama on 76 snaps … Helped pave the way for Ty Davis-Price’s school-record 287 yards rushing in win over Florida.
SENIOR SEASON (2020)
Started all 10 games at center for the Tigers in 2020 … Led all offensive players in total snaps in 2020 with 799 … Did not miss one play the entire year … Played season-high 94 snaps in LSU’s 53-48 win over Ole Miss in the season finale … The week prior, played 88 snaps in 37-34 win over No. 6 Florida in Gainesville … Took over the starting center job during camp and never looked back … First game in LSU uniform came in season-opener against Mississippi State when he played 85 snaps.
PRIOR TO LSU (at Harvard University)
Three-year starter on the offensive line for Harvard … Started at both right guard and right tackle during his career at Harvard … Started 30 consecutive games for the Crimson … Earned All-Ivy League first team as a junior in 2019 and was a second team All-Ivy League selection as a sophomore in 2018 … Redshirted as a true freshman in 2016 and then started all 10 games as a sophomore the following year … Earned Academic All-Ivy League distinction in 2019 … Named the recipient of the Joseph E. Wolf Award in 2019 as Harvard’s top interior lineman.

Parents are Tom and Catherine Shanahan … Grandfather Tom Lane played college football at Boston College … His dad grew up in Ireland … Has three sisters.
