JUNIOR SEASON (2001): One of the nation’s top linebackers … Semifinalist for the Butkus Award … Named second team All-America by the Associated Press and earned a spot on first team All-SEC squad by both the AP and the Coaches … Led LSU with 119 tackles – 77 solo … Named SEC Player of the Week after LSU’s shutout win over Miss. SOPHOMORE SEASON (2000): One of the top linebackers in the Southeastern Conference … Named first team All-SEC by the Football News, College Sports-Southeast and and was a second team selection by the Associated Press and the SEC Coaches … Member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll as well as the Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District team … Posted the most tackles by a Tiger since Shawn Burks in 1985 (113), recording a team-leading 113 tackles, including 77 solos and nine for losses … Ranked second in the SEC in tackles … Posted double figures in tackles in four games – career-best 18 vs. Houston, 13 vs. Tennessee and Kentucky and 12 vs. UAB … Named LSU’s Defensive Player of the Week a team-high three times – vs. Western Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky … Recovered four fumbles on the season with the Tigers converting on three of them for 17 points … His nine tackles for loss tied with Howard Green for the team lead in the category … Recorded the first two sacks of his career in 2000, picking up sacks against Kentucky and Alabama … Posted nine tackles on three occasions – vs. Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas … Started all 11 regular-season games and the Peach Bowl … Recorded eight tackles, including one for minus 2 yards and forced a fumble vs. Georgia Tech in the Peach Bowl … Has now started 20 straight games for the Tigers … Started the 2000 season on the Butkus Award Watch List, a list of the top 70 linebackers in the nation.

TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON (1999): A second team Freshman All-America choice in 1999 by The Sporting News … Emerged as a rising star on the defensive side of the ball … Made his first career start in the 4th game of the year and did not lose the position, starting the final 8 games of the year … Finished the season with 68 tackles, 4 for a loss (-8) yards, 3 pass breakups, 5 quarterback hurries and 1 fumble recovery … Had his best game of the year at Alabama … He made 16 tackles, including 10 solo stops … Made double-digit tackles at Georgia with 10 … Named to the Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC Team, Knoxville News-Sentinel SEC All-Freshman Team and the Sporting News Freshman All-America Team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Member of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Super Southern 100, The Advocate’s Super Dozen, the Times Picayune’s Top 20 Blue Chip List, Tiger Rag’s Dirty Dozen, Louisiana Football Magazine’s All-Louisiana Team … Led Lafayette to Class 5A playoff wildcard berth … Senior year had 600 yards rushing on offense and made 80 tackles on defense … Coached in high school by Bobby Green.
