One of only two true freshmen to play on the defensive side of the ball in 2002 … Played in seven games, recording 7 tackles from the defensive end position … Saw his first action in the opening game of the season at Virginia Tech … Recorded 2 sacks against Louisiana-Lafayette and season-high of three tackles in win over Miami (Ohio).
