Talented pitcher who suffered an elbow injury in April of 2021 that ended his collegiate career … Hill was selected by Colorado in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft and signed contract with the Rockies … was also forced to miss most of the 2019 season due to a shoulder ailment … made 13 appearances (nine starts) during his three-season LSU career, posting a 3-3 record and a 4.21 ERA in 51.1 innings with 20 walks and 53 strikeouts … pitched the first two weekends of the ’19 season as a member of LSU’s starting rotation before suffering a season-ending injury … returned to the mound in 2020 and delivered dominating relief performances … a highly recruited quarterback in addition to being a pitcher/third baseman coming out of high school … possesses a mid-90s fastball and a swing-and-miss changeup with excellent ability to pound the strike zone … his confidence, competitiveness and maturity on the mound are great attributes and will help him contribute at a high level to the pitching staff.

2021 Season
Began the season as the Tigers’ No. 1 starting pitcher, but suffered a season-ending elbow injury on April 2 versus Vanderbilt … started seven games on the year, recording a 2-3 mark and a 6.67 ERA in 29.2 innings with 12 walks and 25 strikeouts … pitched 6.2 scoreless innings versus UT San Antonio (March 12), allowing four hits with two walks and six strikeouts … defeated Youngstown State on Feb. 26 with six shutout innings, allowing one hit with no walks and four strikeouts … posted a win over Air Force in the 2021 season opener (Feb. 20), firing four scoreless innings and allowing just three hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

2020 Season
Named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper after allowing no runs and just one hit in 11.2 relief innings (four appearances) while recording five walks, 17 strikeouts and two saves … limited opponents to an .028 (1-for-36) batting average on the year … Hill made his first appearance in a game in nearly a year when he worked two relief innings versus Indiana on Feb. 15 … Hill, who was sidelined most of the 2019 season by an elbow injury, was dominant in the outing, firing two shutout frames with no hits, one walk and three strikeouts … Hill’s fastball was consistently clocked in the upper 90s, peaking at 98 mph … earned his first LSU career save in a Feb. 28 win over Texas with a dominating three-inning performance … Hill fired three scoreless frames, allowing no hits with one walk and six strikeouts, preserving the Tigers’ 4-3 victory … fired four perfect innings with three strikeouts on March 7 to earn a save versus UMass Lowell.

2019 Season
Pitched as a starter in LSU’s weekend rotation versus Air Force (Feb. 17) and Bryant (Feb. 24) before having to sit out the remainder of the season due to injury … was named SEC Freshman of the Week after his win against Air Force, in which he worked five innings and limited the Falcons to one run on four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts … also worked five innings in the start against Bryant, allowing one run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Prior to LSU
Selected in the 38th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals … rated the No. 78 prospect in the MLB Draft by MLB Pipeline and rated No. 1 Player in Arkansas by Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report … named the 2018 Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year and received 2017 All-America recognition from Under Armour … posted a 7-0 record on the mound with a 0.51 ERA in 2018, striking out 85 batters while allowing 12 walks … also batted .540 with 11 home runs, 43 RBI, 35 runs and a 1.034 slugging percentage.

Full name is Kenneth Jaden Hill … brother of former MLB 10th-round draft pick Kentrell Hill … cousin, Cedrick Harris, was an outfielder at LSU from 1997-2000, and he was the starting centerfielder for the Tigers’ 2000 College World Series championship team … majoring in interdisciplinary studies at LSU … born December 12, 1999.
