2001 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll

Talented pitcher who should see action in 2002 after missing the past three seasons with an elbow injury … red-shirted in 1999 due to the injury; he underwent reconstructive surgery on the elbow in May, 1999 … continued his rehabilitation during the 2000 and 2001 seasons, and was granted a sixth year of eligibility for 2002 … transferred to LSU in the fall of 1998 from the University of New Orleans, where he pitched for two seasons … a member of the 2001 SEC Academic Honor Roll with a 3.0 gpa in civil engineering. 

At UNO: Lettered two seasons (1997-98) for the Privateers on the mound … posted a 4-6 mark and a 5.90 ERA in 1998 with 68 strikeouts in 82.1 innings … appeared in 22 games (15 starts), recording four complete games and two saves … one of his complete games was a 4-2 loss at LSU, in which he limited the Tigers to three earned runs on five hits with four walks and nine strikeouts … posted a 4-5 record with a 5.35 ERA in 1997. 

High School: Lettered four seasons at Brother Martin High in New Orleans, where he was a teammate of current LSU infielder Blair Barbier … led the Crusaders to the 1996 Class 5A state championship, where he pitched 17 innings of scoreless baseball in less than 30 hours … was named MVP of the 5A state tournament for his efforts … named all-district 10-5A and all-state as a senior … also lettered three seasons in basketball … coached in baseball by Barry Hebert and in basketball by Barry Dotson.
