High School: Four-year letterman in baseball as a pitcher and outfielder at Hahnville High in Boutte … named all-district, all-River Parishes, all-Metro, and Class 5A All-State in both his junior and senior seasons … hit .333 with five home runs as a senior while also posting a 7-1 record with a 2.20 ERA on the mound … finished his career with a .362 batting average, 18 home runs and 135 RBI, while also posting a 20-8 record with a 2.18 ERA as a pitcher … also lettered three years as a quarterback and kicker for the Tiger football team … Tigers won the 1994 Class 5A state championship with a 15-0 record, and were the state runners-up in 1995 … earned all-state honors as a kicker in his senior year … coached in football by Darren Barbier and Scott Hildebrand.
