Extremely talented player who emerged as one of the top players in the SEC as a true freshman in 2021 and has enjoyed a tremendous three-year LSU career, culminating it with the 2023 College World Series title … has started in all 194 LSU games in which he has played, posting a .332 (256-for-771) career batting average with 49 doubles, nine triples, 20 homers, 149 RBI and 180 runs … ranked No. 2 on LSU career list for hit-by-pitch with 47 … regarded as the best high school hitter in the New Orleans area prior to arriving at LSU, but missed his entire senior high school season to an injury that required surgery … was a standout on the summer circuit with the MLB Breakthrough Series Organization prior to entering college … helped lead the U.S. Collegiate National Team to a bronze medal in the summer of 2022 at Honkbalweek Haarlem in the Netherlands; he started six games at first base, and he drew three walks, scored two runs and collected one RBI in the tournament …… very versatile player, as he is a superb defender at first base and can also play the outfield … makes a lot of contact at the plated and drives balls into the gaps.

• Voted to the 2023 College World Series All-Tournament Team, batting .344 (11-for-32) with three doubles, one triple, six RBI and six runs
• Hit a team-high .556 (5-for-9) in the NCAA Super Regional vs. Kentucky with one double, two homers, three RBI and four runs … hit two homers in Game 1 of the Super Regional, marking his second career two-homer game; the first came earlier this season (May 14) vs. Mississippi State
• Batted .400 (4-for-10) in the SEC Tournament with three RBI and one run scored
• Recorded the first two-homer game of his career when he launched two dingers on May 14 versus Mississippi State … Morgan drove in six runs and scored five times in the weekend series against the Bulldogs
• Hit .385 (5-for-13) in Auburn series (May 5-7) with one homer, three RBI and two runs; drove in all three runs in LSU’s 3-0 victory in Game 1 (May 5)
• 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored at Tulane (April 11)
• Hit .429 (6-for-14) in the Tennessee series (March 30-April 1) with three doubles, two RBI and three runs
• Batted .385 (5-for-13) in the Arkansas series (March 24-25) with one triple, one homer, two RBI and five runs
• Became the first LSU player to hit for the cycle since 2010, on Feb. 21 vs. Southern, when he posted a “natural” cycle, collecting a single in the second, a double in the third, triple in the fifth and a homer in the sixth … Morgan was 4-for-5 on the day with a career-best eight RBI, and he became the first Tiger to hit for the cycle since April 6, 2010, when Mikie Mahtook accomplished the feat versus Alcorn State
2022 Season
Started all 62 LSU games (61 at first base, one at DH), batting .324 (82-for-253) with 18 doubles, one triple, five homers, 54 RBI and 50 runs scored … batted .352 (31-for-88) on the year with runners in scoring position … hit .295 (38-for-129) in SEC regular-season games with eight doubles, four homers, 20 RBI and 18 runs … finished No. 5 in the SEC in hit-by-pitch (15), No. 10 in the league in doubles (18) and No. 11 in base hits (82) … hit .412 (7-for-17) in the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional with one double, six RBI and one run … (batted .500 (6-for-12) in the Vanderbilt series (May 19-21) with four doubles, three RBI and five runs … 3-for-5 with a double and a career-best five RBI in May 10 win over Southeastern Louisiana … delivered the game-winning two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth inning at Mississippi State (April 8), erasing a 2-1 deficit and sparking LSU to a 5-2 victory … 3-for-5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI in April 2 game vs. Auburn … launched his first homer of the year on March 27 at Florida, and he drove in three runs in the 11-2 LSU win … 4-for-5 with three RBI versus Southern (Feb. 26).
2021 Season
Morgan batted .357 (89-for-249) in 2021 with 16 doubles, four triples, six homers, 42 RBI, 64 runs scored and 15 stolen bases LSU’s leading hitter on the year with runners in scoring position, batting .379 (25-for-66) … LSU’s lead-off hitter in 34 of the Tigers’ 63 games … finished No. 4 in the SEC in batting average, No. 4 in base hits, No. 4 in runs scored, No. 4 in triples, No. 5 in doubles, No. 5 in stolen bases and No. 7 in on-base percentage (.441) … also received first-team Freshman all-America, second-team all-SEC and Freshman all-SEC honors, and he was named to the SEC all-Defensive Team … was twice recognized as the SEC Freshman of the Week during a three-week period in late April-early May … collected six hits, including a double, in the NCAA Eugene Regional to go along with three RBI and three runs scored … he hit .375 (6-for-16) in series win at Texas A&M (May 20-22) with one double, one RBI and three runs scored … named SEC Freshman of the Week on May 10, batting .529 (9-for-17) in four games with one double, one triple, one homer, three RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases and a .556 on-base percentage … in LSU’s series win at Auburn (May 6-8), Morgan hit .538 (7-for-13) with one triple, one homer, three RBI, four runs, one stolen base and a .571 on-base percentage … his two-out, two-run triple in the top of the eighth inning on May 6 at Auburn extended LSU’s lead from 5-3 to 7-3 in an eventual 8-3 win … also named SEC Freshman of the Week on April 26, as he helped lead the Tigers to an SEC series victory at ninth-ranked Ole Miss … hit .571 (8-for-14) in the series with three RBI, four runs scored, one stolen base and a .625 on-base percentage … compiled two separate 11-game hit streaks (Feb. 24-March 9 and April 9-27) … reached base safely in 18 straight games before the streak was broken on April 30 vs. Arkansas … hit .400 (4-for-10) in the South Carolina series (April 15-17) while scoring two runs and recording one stolen base … 3-for-5 at Kentucky (April 9) with one double, one homer and three RBI … hit .429 (6-for-14) in the Tennessee series (March 26-28) with three doubles, one homer, two RBI and three runs scored … Morgan collected a career-best five hits in March 27 game at Tennessee, including three doubles and a homer … Morgan also tied the LSU single-game record for doubles (3) on March 27 at Tennessee … clutch two-out, two-strike RBI double in seventh inning vs. Miss. State (March 21), giving Tigers a 4-2 lead … delivered a walk-off, ninth-inning sacrifice fly to drive in the deciding run in a 5-4 victory over Nicholls on March 3.

The No. 220 ranked player in the country by Perfect Game … a 2019 First Team All-District, All-Metro and All-State selection … batted .483 in 2019 with 12 doubles, 27 RBI, 34 runs and 16 stolen bases … also played free safety for the football team at Brother Martin High.
