Tall, right-handed pitcher from San Diego who made a tremendous impact upon the LSU bullpen during his career … made 80 appearances (one start) on the mound during his three-season career from 2014 through 2016 … posted a 4-6 career mark with a 2.64 ERA and nine saves in 112.1 innings … recorded 34 walks and 100 strikeouts and limited opponents to .200 batting average … named to the 2016 and 2015 SEC Academic Honor Roll and the 2014 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as an accounting major .. has a good feel for pitching and uses an over-the-top low 90s fastball with a major downhill plane to be effective … suffered a broken foot during his 2013 senior season in high school and missed the second half of the year … selected in the 34th round of the MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles … selected in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins in the 27th round and signed with the Marlins in the summer of 2016.

State series (April 22-24),allowing just two hits with no walks and three strikeouts … Recorded a three-inning save at Missouri (April 16), allowing one run on three hits with no walks and two Ks … Earned his first save of the season with a brilliant relief outing at Auburn (April 3), clinching the series victory for LSU … Bugg blanked Auburn — which had the highest team batting average among SEC teams in league games – over 3.2 innings, allowing two hits with one walk and one strikeout … impressive relief outing on March 29 vs. Tulane – worked two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and no walks while recording three strikeouts.

Made 26 relief appearances, recording a 1-2 mark and a 1.72 ERA in 36.2 innings with 13 walks, 35 strikeouts and three saves … limited opponents to just a .180 cumulative batting average … worked 3.2 scoreless innings (four appearances) in LSU’s NCAA Tournament games, allowing just one hit with no walks and two strikeouts … allowed just one run on eight hits in last 15 innings of relief with three walks and 16 strikeouts … pitched 1.2 scoreless innings against TCU in the College World Series (June 18), allowing one hit with one strikeout … earned win in Game 1 of NCAA Super Regional vs. UL-Lafayette (June 6), recording three straight outs in the top of the 9th before LSU won in the bottom of the inning … earned save in NCAA Regional championship win over UNC Wilmington (June 1), striking out the final batter with a runner at second to preserve 2-0 win … earned save in LSU’s 9-8 SEC Tournament win over Auburn (May 20), firing a scoreless ninth inning with no hits and two strikeouts … threw season-high 55 pitches in 3.2-inning relief outing at Miss. State (May 2) – allowed one run on three hits with no walks and four strikeouts … fired two perfect innings in relief at Georgia (April 18), recording two strikeouts … excellent relief outing on April 12 vs. Auburn – worked four innings and allowed one run on five hits with no walks and two strikeouts … fired two perfect relief innings vs. Ole Miss (March 14) with three strikeouts … earned save in LSU’s 4-2 win over Nebraska (March 8); pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing just one single … fired four strikeouts in only 1.2 innings of relief vs. Southeastern Louisiana on Feb. 26.

2014 Season
Appeared in 26 games (one start), recording a 2-2 mark with a 2.75 ERA and two saves in 36 innings … registered five walks and 29 strikeouts and limited opponents to a .211 batting average … first career collegiate start on April 29 vs. Alcorn State – worked two innings, allowing no runs on two hits with two strikeouts … winning pitcher in LSU’s 4-3, 13-inning victory at Ole Miss on April 17 – worked a scoreless 12th inning with no hits, no walks and two strikeouts … earned first career LSU win in relief vs. Miss. State (April 6); limited Bulldogs to one run on two hits in 1.2 IP with one walk and three strikeouts … superb relief outing versus Georgia (March 23), pitching a season-high 4.0 innings, allowing no runs on two hits with two strikeouts … strong relief outing in LSU win at Vanderbilt (March 14); fired 1.1 innings, allowing an unearned run with no walks and two strikeouts … earned a save versus Purdue (March 9), allowing no runs on one hit in 1.2 innings with one strikeout … earned first career save on February 15 at New Orleans – one scoreless inning with three strikeouts.

Posted a 5-1 mark with a 0.90 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 39 innings as a senior at Rancho Bernardo High School … missed the last seven weeks of the season, however, to due to a stress fracture in his right foot … led his team to two CIF San Diego Section D1 championships … named to the San Diego Union Tribune All-Academic Team … member of the 2012 Southern California Milwaukee Brewers Area Code Team.
