Outstanding player and team leader who played a vital role in LSU’s drive to the 2023 National Championship … enjoyed a tremendous five-season LSU career (2019-2023), appearing in 201 games (178 starts), batting .287 (179-for-623) with 35 doubles, five triples, 44 homers, 148 RBI, 161 runs and a school-record 68 hit-by-pitch … finished his career No. 10 on the LSU all-time list for homers with 44 … the SEC RBI leader in 2021, when he collected 66 … a member of the 2023, 2022, 2021 and 2020 SEC Academic Honor Rolls as a sport administration major … wore the coveted jersey No. 8 in the 2023 and 2022 seasons; the number is awarded each season to the upperclassman who best exemplifies the spirit of the LSU Baseball program … very talented player who swings the bat with consistency and power.
2023 Season
• Finished No. 1 in the nation in hit-by-pitch with a school-record 33 on the year
• Batted .290 (65-for-224) on the season with 12 homers, two triples, 17 homers, 46 RBI and 74 runs … played in 68 games with 66 starts at second base
• Voted to the College World Series All-Tournament Team at second base, as he hit .308 (8-for-26) with two doubles, two homers, four RBI and four runs scored
• Launched a solo homer in LSU’s CWS opener vs. Tennessee (June 17), giving LSU a 1-0 lead in the second inning
• Posted a 55-game reached base streak from February 17-June 2
• 2-for-6 in the NCAA Super Regional vs. Kentucky with one homer, one RBI, three runs and three HBPs
• 3-for-10 in NCAA Baton Rouge Regional with one homer, two RBI and three runs
• 4-for-4 with a triple, a homer, four runs and one RBI on May 12 vs. Mississippi State
• 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three runs scored at Southeastern Louisiana (May 2)
• In LSU’s April 7 win at third-ranked South Carolina, Dugas launched a two-out grand slam in the top of the eighth inning, erasing a 7-3 deficit and tying the game at 7-7 … LSU went on to score the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth and secure an 8-7 victory … the grand slam was the third of Dugas’ career – he hit two grand slams in 2021
• Registered two doubles, two homers and three RBI in Tennessee series (March 30-April 1) … Dugas’ solo HR in the fourth inning on March 31 vs. Tennessee broke a 4-4 tie and proved to the game-winning hit in LSU’s 6-4 victory.
• Launched two homers and collected four RBI in Arkansas series (March 24-25)
• Launched a three-run homer Feb. 28 in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Tigers to a 3-0 win at Texas
2022 Season
Played in 39 games (33 starts), batting .306 (33-for-108) with eight doubles, five homers, 25 RBI and 26 runs … started 29 games in left field and four at DH … batted .438 (14-for-32) on the year with runners in scoring position … finished No. 5 in the SEC in hit-by-pitch (15) … blasted a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning of the championship game of the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional versus Southern Miss, tying the contest at 7-7 … missed four straight SEC series from early April to early May due to a thumb injury but returned to action in the Alabama series on May 7 and 8; started the May 8 game at DH in the leadoff position and reached base five times in six plate appearances with two hits, including a double, three walks and one run scored … re-injured his thumb in May 15 game versus Ole Miss and missed the May 19-21 series at Vanderbilt, but returned to start at DH for three games in the SEC Tournament … led off the game vs. Southeastern La. (May 10) with a homer, marking his first home run since March 29 vs. UL Monroe … 2-for-4 at Florida (March 26) with one double, one homer, two RBI and two runs scored … 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 23).
2021 Season
Made 62 starts in left field and led the SEC in RBI with 66; he was No. 3 in the league in home runs (19), No. 5 in slugging percentage (.641) and No. 8 in total bases (141) … batted .295 (65-for-220) on the year with 13 doubles, three triples and 54 runs scored … hit .333 (8-for-24) in LSU’s seven NCAA Tournament games one double, two triples, three homers, six RBI and seven runs … voted the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA Eugene Regional, hitting .438 (7-for-16) with one double, two triples, three home runs, six RBI and seven runs scored … 2-for-3 with two homers, three RBI and three runs scored in the regional title game win over Oregon … voted SEC Co-Player of the Week after leading LSU to an SEC series victory in May over Alabama … in the three-game series, he hit .364 (4-for-11) with one double, two homers, five RBI, four runs, one stolen base and a .429 on-base percentage … launched a grand slam at Ole Miss on April 23 in the top of the ninth inning in LSU’s 7-2 win – the blast expanded LSU’s lead at the time from 2-1 to 6-1 … the grand slam was the second of the season for Dugas, who also hit one on February 22 in a victory over Louisiana Tech … 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in April 15 win over South Carolina … unloaded a two-run homer in back-to-back games at Kentucky on April 9 and April 10; also collected his first career triple in the April 10 game … launched two homers and drove in four runs in the Tennessee series (March 26-28) … launched go-ahead solo homer in sixth inning vs. Miss. State (March 21), breaking a 2-2 tie and sparking LSU to an 8-3 win … unloaded a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th inning on March 13 vs. UTSA to tie the game and 9-9; LSU went on to win the game 10-9 in the 13th inning … delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning vs. UTSA on March 14, lifting the Tigers to a 13-12 victory.
2020 Season
Played in 13 games (seven starts), batting .286 (8-for-28) with a team-high three homers, five RBI and six runs scored … started three games at second base, one at third base, one in left field, one in right field and one at DH … 2-for-4 with two homers, two runs and four RBI vs. UMass Lowell on March 8 … launched a solo homer and scored two runs in LSU’s win over Southern on Feb. 18.
2019 Season
Played in 19 games (10 starts), batting .186 (8-for-43) with two doubles, one runs and six RBI … missed two months of the season from late February until late April with a thumb injury … started seven games at second base, two at designated hitter and one at first base … started at second base for Games 2 and 3 at Alabama (April 27-28), and he delivered three hits in the series, including a two-out, two-run single to highlight LSU’s three-run rally in the third inning of the Game 3 win.

Earned 2018 All-America recognition from Rawlings … earned 2018 first-team all-state recognition at Houma Christian High School, batting .452 in his senior season with 33 hits, 34 RBI, 10 home runs and 46 runs … a four time all-district selection and two-time district Most Valuable Player at Houma Christian High School … and honors graduate and member of the National Honor Society … played in the summer of 2018 in the Prospect League – a collegiate summer league – for the Danville (Ill.) Dans, batting .331 with six doubles, two triples, three homers, 23 RBI, 28 runs and 28 stolen bases.
