Hard-throwing right-hander who contributed on the mound in 2003 after making just one appearance in 2002 due to an elbow injury … a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll as a zoology major … red-shirted as a true freshman in 1999.
SENIOR SEASON (2003)
Appeared in seven games as a reliever, posting a 1-0 mark and a 7.94 ERA in 11.1 innings with six walks and nine strikeouts … earned first career LSU victory with a strong relief outing against Nicholls State (April 2), firing four shutout innings with one walk and one strikeout … also pitched one shutout innings versus Auburn (May 10), striking out the side against the Plainsmen … recorded a season-high four strikeouts in 2.1 innings at Northwestern State (April 9).
JUNIOR SEASON (2002)
Started LSU’s game versus Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 12) and pitched very effectively, allowing one run on five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in six innings … was scheduled to start at Centenary (Feb. 20), but was scratched from the line-up just before the game due to pain in his elbow … later underwent surgery on the elbow and missed the remainder of the season.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2001)
Made one relief appearance at Louisiana-Monroe (April 26), firing one shutout inning with no hits, one walk and one strikeout.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2000)
A squad member who did not see game action.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-sport letterman at Huntington Academy … lettered five seasons in baseball, leading Huntington to the 1994 MPSA State Championship … posted a 10-2 pitching mark in 1998, with a 0.91 ERA and 149 strikeouts in 78 innings … also batted .441 with 11 home runs … earned three all-district selections, two all-metro selections, and one all-state selection … named district and team MVP as a senior … led team to five district championships … was an two-time all-metro selection in football, playing in the MPSA All-Star game as a senior … earned three letters in basketball and one letter in tennis … coached in baseball by Mitch Ashmore.
