Summer League Recap: Day 10

BATON ROUGE – The NBA Summer League wrapped up play on Wednesday with six former Tigers suiting up.

Javonte Smart and the Heat started the day off against the Dallas Mavericks. Smart had four rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes. Dallas defeated Miami, 83-82.

Smart ended the Summer League with four games played and averages of 5.8 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 1.8 APG.

Jarell Martin and the Utah Jazz were next up, and Martin saved his best for last, putting up a game-high 23 points, 12 boards, four assists, and four steals.

Martin finished Summer League with four games played, 7.0 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 1.0 APG.

The next game between the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers saw three Tigers go head-to-head, with Houston’s recently acquired Tremont Waters and Portland’s Antonio Blakeney and Trendon Watford.

Waters played 32 minutes and had four points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Blakeney played 31 minutes and had a Portland-high 23 points and seven rebounds. Watford did not play due to a coach’s decision.

Waters finishes Summer League with two games played, 4.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 4.5 APG.

Blakeney finished with five games played, 17.4 PPG and 3.8 RPG.

Watford wraps up with four games played, 5.8 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.0 APG.

The Brooklyn Nets gave Cameron Thomas the night off, clinching his spot as the No. 1 scorer throughout nine days in Las Vegas.

Thomas’s efforts were rewarded as the 2021 NBA Summer League Co-MVP alongside Sacramento’s Davion Mitchell. He was also tabbed on the All-Summer League First-Team.
