Baton Rouge, La.  –  The second batch of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings came out on Monday and the LSU women held steady at the No. 1 spot and the men came in at No. 2.

Following three weeks of outdoor competition, LSU has amassed 25 top-10 national marks including national leads by Terrance Laird (200 meters/19.81), Tonea Marshall (100m hurdles/12.75), Damion Thomas (110m hurdles/13.22), and the women’s 4x100m relay (42.87). A full list of LSU athletes with top 10 marks can be viewed below.

LSU had six marks that entered the national top 10 or improved upon top 10 marks already registered this season at Saturday’s Battle on the Bayou. On the women’s side, Favour Ofili opened up wonderfully in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 22.69 to rank No. 3 in the NCAA, and freshman Emma Robbins launched a personal best of 216′ 6″ (66 meters) in the hammer throw to rank ninth nationally; Ofili’s time is the seventh fastest in Nigerian history and Robbins’ mark ranks No. 2 on the all-time LSU list.

Throwers Jake Norris and Jon Nerdal both set season bests in the hammer throw on Saturday with the nation’s second best and fourth best marks of the season. Norris launched his best throw in an LSU uniform since 2018 with a toss of 237′ 3″ (72.31 meters) and Nerdal PR’d with a heave of 232′ 8″ (70.92 meters). Rayvon Grey collected an outdoor personal best in the long jump with a leap of 25′ 11″ (7.90 meters) to rank fifth in the nation, and sophomore Noah Williams ran a windy time of 20.28 in the 200 meters to rank fourth nationally.
