CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The LSU Lady Tigers were one of just six teams to finish their second round of play before play was suspended Saturday in the Ruth’s Chris Lady Tar Heel as both Elise Bradley and Madelene Sagstrom both posted even par rounds of 72.
Bradley is in the hunt for a strong top 10 finish as she stands at even par 144 after 36 holes of the 54 hole event. Bradley has so far moved up two spots on the day to a group tied for 14th at even par but only four golfers at 1-under have finished and 10 golfers at 2-under or better were still on course after severe conditions hit at 3:25 ET.
Nanna Madsen of South Carolina is the present leader at 6-under par through 30 holes of play.
Sagstrom’s 72 puts her at 5-over 149 with Caroline Nistrup two strokes better at 147 (3-over) after a 1-over 73 on the day. LSU’s other counting score in its 7-over 295 was a 78 by Nadine Dreher.
South Carolina is the tournament leader with four players through the 15th hole at -6 under par for the tournament. Duke is second at 4-under at the same spot on the course, the only two teams presently under par. LSU is 10th when play was suspended at 15-over par, but five teams in front of them from +12-14 still have holes to play so the Lady Tigers could move up for the final round.
The round will be completed at 7 a.m. CT with the originally scheduled shotgun start for the final round set for approximately 8:15 a.m.
