Dreher, Austria Finish Runner-Up in Europe

YORK, England – Austria, with LSU sophomore golfer Nadine Dreher on its roster, finished second in the European Women’s Amateur Team Championship that concluded Saturday at the Fulford Golf Club.

Austria lost to Spain, 5-2, in the championship match on Saturday, as Dreher lost 1UP in 19 holes to Noemi Jimenez.

In the consolation round, neither of the LSU golfers finished their matches as Denmark beat France, 4-1, for fifth place as the final match between LSU freshman Caroline Nistrup and France’s Justime Dreher was declared a half point for each team by mutual agreement. In the seventh place match, Sweden was a 3-2 loser to the Netherlands. LSU junior Madelene Sagstrom and Johanna Tillstrom won a point when their foursomes match was conceded.
