BATON ROUGE — The LSU swimming and diving teams are gearing up for a busy month of August as several student-athletes are set to compete at national or international meets over the next two weeks.
The 2010 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships begin Tuesday in Irvine, Calif., where two-time NCAA All-American Amanda Kendall and fellow Lady Tigers Kannon Betzen, Sara Haley, Audrey Lawson, Chelsea Griffiths and Jana Ruimerman are expected to race.
On the international levels, five-time All-American Jane Trepp and four-time All-American Andrei Tuomola will travel to Budapest, Hungary, to square off against the European elite at the 2010 European Long-Course Championships, which will be held Aug. 4-15.
In diving, junior-to-be Brian Gemberling and sophomores-to-be Rebecca St. Germain and Jesse Lyman earned invitations to the 2010 AT&T National Diving Championships in College Station, Texas, and will go up against the nation’s top divers, beginning Aug. 10.
