BATON ROUGE — LSU’s Jack Hunt and Eric Alexander will get to play one more college football game as the seniors have been invited to participate in the Hula Bowl in Maui on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The Hula Bowl will be televised to a national audience by ESPN with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CST.
Hunt and Alexander become the sixth and seventh Tigers to be invited to play in a post-season all-star game, joining fellow seniors Rodney Reed, Donnie Jones, Chad Lavalais, Devery Henderson and Stephen Peterman. Reed will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, while Jones, Lavalais, Peterman and Henderson will all participate in the Senior Bowl.
Hunt, whose grandfather Alex Hunt played on Georgia Tech’s 1952 national championship football team, started 13 games at strong safety for the Tigers in 2003, ranking third on the team with 73 tackles, three of which went for losses. Hunt also intercepted four passes for the Tigers, returning two for touchdowns.
Alexander started all 14 games at linebacker for the Tigers, ranking fourth on the team with 65 tackles, nine of which went for 34 yards in losses. He also registered five sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown in LSU’s win over Arkansas.
