LSU
Chris Bobel
Title
Director of Basketball Operations

Chris Bobel has proven to be a perfect Director of Basketball Operations for Coach Trent Johnson since coming with him from Stanford. His “jack-of-all-trades” ability to handle big and small tasks for the program has made him an invaluable member of the LSU basketball staff.

Entering his third year as Director of Operations, Bobel has served as Co-Director for the Tiger Basketball Camps, organized video exchange and opponent scouting, oversaw the team managers, acted as the liaison to the marketing department and the academic staff and was responsible for all gear and equipment needs. In addition, Bobel aided the recruiting effort, managing the recruiting database and organizing the on-campus recruiting visits. Bobel is also involved in practice preparation and team travel.

Bobel served as a video coordinator and coaching intern at Stanford prior to coming in 2008 to LSU. In 2007, Bobel was a walk-on member of the Stanford Cardinal men’s basketball squad after being invited to join the team by Coach Johnson based on his toughness, work ethic and competitive attitude.

Prior to earning a playing jersey for Stanford, Bobel served as the program’s student recruiting coordinator during the 2005-06 campaign. Bobel also served as the head coach for the freshman team at Palo Alto High School and an assistant coach with the varsity team in 2004-05.

Bobel, a native of Palo Alto, Calif., is a 2002 graduate of Palo Alto High School where he was a three-year letterman and a two-year captain of the basketball team.

He graduated from Stanford with a bachelor of science in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford in December 2006.
