Milan Stokes
Milan Stokes was named Human Resources Manager in January of 2021. In her role, Stokes focuses on a variety of integral business processes such as onboarding, training and development, maintaining team member engagement initiatives, and managing student employment within LSU Athletics.
Stokes is also responsible for creating Evaluation Season and Planning Season for performance management and team member appreciation as well as facilitating a number of educational opportunities like Hiring Manager Training, Athletics Orientation for both full-time staff and students, and the Chew on This: Lunch & Learn series.
The Long Beach, California, native earned her bachelor’s degree in only three years, acquiring a degree in English from LSU in 2019. She then completed her master’s degree in Leadership and Human Resource Development from LSU in May of 2020.
An accomplished student-athlete in her own right, Stokes was a four-year letter winner for LSU Women’s Volleyball. She was a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient and the 2018 Jesse Owens Athletic Award winner. Stokes served as the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at LSU, and was one of two LSU representatives selected for the 2019 SEC Career Tour before finishing her athletic career as recipient of the LSU Athletics Female Leadership Award at the Mikey’s.
