#22 Maddie Waak Season 2023

FRESHMAN SEASON (2022)
Played in 107 sets over 29 matches and made two starts…averaged 4.38 assists with 469 total digs and registered 20 aces…also averaged 1.25 digs per set (134 total) and added seven blocks and seven kills…recorded a season-high 39 assists at Alabama (Oct. 19) and had eight matches with 20 or more assists…logged three double-doubles this season, including against Mississippi State (Oct. 30) where she had 21 assists and a season-high 17 digs…landed a season-high three kills against No. 21 Penn State (Sept. 3) and three aces versus Iowa State (Sept. 2).

HIGH SCHOOL
Played at Katy High School where she was honored as a Prep Volleyball High School All-American and was tabbed the 19-6A Most Outstanding Setter twice (2019-20)… played club volleyball for the Houston Skyline and was honored as a two-time Prep Volleyball All-American (2018-19) and three-time Open Girls Junior National Championship All-Tournament Team (2018-19, 2021)…her club teams won nationals at 15 Open in 2019 and won Triple Crown in 2021…was the highest ranked recruit of the LSU 2021 class, ranking No. 30 according to Prep Volleyball.

PERSONAL
Daughter of Nick and Robin Waak … has two sisters named Emme and Kaitlin … father played baseball at Lassen Junior College (1997-2000) and Centenary College of Louisiana (2000-2002) and was a 1997 draft pick by the Cleveland Indians … mother played volleyball and softball at Centenary College of Louisiana (1996-2000).
