2021 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll
GRADUATE SEASON NO. 2 (2021)
Played in 20 matches, 46 sets with seven starts…recorded 114 kills and averaged 2.48 kills per set with a .225 hitting percentage…also logged 61 digs and 20 total blocks…turned in a season-high 14 kills twice on the year, first versus Iowa State (Sept. 3) and then at South Carolina (Oct. 20) where she also logged 12 digs for her third career double-double as a LSU Tiger.
GRADUATE SEASON NO. 1 (2020-21)
Only played for the Tigers during the spring portion of the schedule, making an immediate impact upon her arrival with a start in her first match… Played in all 16 of LSU’s spring matches with 13 starts… Despite missing the Tigers’ first six matches, Brister finished second on the team in kills per set (2.44) and third on the team in total kills (151) and in points (160.5)… In her second match with LSU Brister had a double-double with 13 digs and 21 kills which became her season-highs in both stats… Had a double-double in the final match of the season at Tennessee with 11 kills and 11 digs… Finished the season with seven matches where she recorded double-digit kills, including three of the final four matches of the season.
PRIOR TO LSU
One of the best players in Northwestern State history and was only the fifth player in Southland Conference history to earn Freshman of the Year (2017) and Player of Year (2019) … Finished second on the team as a freshman in kills (269) and ranked third in hitting percentage (.222) … In her sophomore season she started 24 matches in her sophomore campaign appearing in 26 total on the season … Led the Lady Demons as a sophomore with 314 kills and finished seventh in the Southland in kills … Had 17 matches with 10 or more kills on the year … Ended her second season with 10 consecutive matches with 10 or more kills … In her record-breaking junior year she led the Southland Conference in kills from start to finish and posted the first 500-kill season in NSU history, finishing with a new single-season school record of 539 … Became the eighth player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills … Ranked in the top-20 in the NCAA at season’s end in kills (539 – 11th), kills per set (4.77 – 12th), attacks (1,454 – 9th), attacks per set (12.87 – 7th), points (588.0 – 18th) and points per set (5.20 – 17th) … Had 10 or more kills in 30 matches on the season and recorded 20 or more kills on 10 occasions as a junior … Broke the match record for attempts with 87 in the five-set loss at Sam Houston during her junior year … Began her third season with 10 straight matches with double-digit kills, extending her 10-match streak ending the 2018 season … Finished her junior season with 18 consecutive matches with double-digit kills … Had 15 double-doubles (kill-dig) during her junior season with a pair of 20-kill, 20-dig performances in the SLC tournament … Finished her junior season ranked fifth in NSU career kills (1,122) and attempts (3,119) and tied for seventh in hitting percentage (.237).
