Was a four-time letterwinner in cross country and track at Covington High School under head coaches Suzanne Slade and Chris Blocker … Won state titles in the 1,600 meters during the indoor season and 3,200 meters during the outdoor season in 2006 … Earned a state runner-up finish in the 800 meters during the outdoor campaign … Was the District 4-5A cross country champion and state runner-up during his senior season … Won district titles in the 800 meters, 1,600 meters and 3,200 meters as a senior … Was a two-time all-state selection in cross country in 2004 and 2005, as well as an all-state performer on the track in 2006 … Named the Times-Picayune Metro Area Track MVP in 2006.
