Senior Season (2002)
Capped her career with a personal best effort in the 400 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn All-America honors in the event … Crossed the line in 51.62 to finish fifth overall … Time ranks as the sixth fastest in Lady Tiger history … Just missed All-SEC honors in open quarter, placing third at the outdoor conference championships with a time of 51.62 … During the indoor season, helped the Lady Tigers to the NCAA team title, earning All-America honors as a member of the 4×400-meter relay team that placed third overall (3:35.13) … Was also a NCAA qualifier in the 400 meters … Placed 12th after clocking 53.47 in the prelims … Finished third in the open quarter at the SEC Indoor Championships (52.59).

Junior Season (2001)
A tremendous addition to the Lady Tigers, she earned three All-American honors in her first year in Baton Rouge while establishing herself as one of the nation’s premier quarter-milers … Finished fourth at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 400-meter dash, clocking a blazing time of 53.04, the third fastest time in LSU history … Also anchored the Lady Tigers to a sixth place finish in the 4×400-meter relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships … Finished sixth in the 400-meter dash at the SEC Indoor Championships … As the Lady Tigers moved outdoors, Smith picked up the intensity … She ran a smoking 51.92 at the Tom Tellez Invitational in Houston, fourth fastest time in LSU history, make her only the fourth woman in LSU history to run a sub-52 second time … Finished third at the SEC Outdoor Championships in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 52.49 in an extremely fast race … Placed seventh in the 400 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships … Helped the Lady Tigers’ 4×400-meter relay establish itself among the elite foursomes in the nation … She anchored the group that came up with an eye-popping 3:30.20 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, the fourth fastest time in school history … Ran the opening leg of the Lady Tigers’ 4×200-meter relay which broke the school record in the event with a time of 1:31.24 at the Penn Relays.

A transfer from Essex County College (N.J.) … The junior college national champion in the 400-meter dash in 2000 … Ran on the Essex County 4×800-meter relay team with current teammate Marian Burnett, which broke the national junior college record in the event in 2000.
