SENIOR SEASON (2001)
Emerged as LSU’s starter at left defensive end over the last month of the season … Had best game of career vs. Arkansas as he recorded 5 tackles, 4 of which went for losses … Also had 1 sack in the 41-38 win over the Razorbacks … Key contributor on LSU defensive front that held Tennessee to just 50 yards rushing in SEC title game … Had 3 tackles and 1 sack vs. Tennessee on Dec. 8 … Started for first time against Mississippi State and helped the Tigers to a shutout victory … Had 4 tackles vs. both Miss. State and Ole Miss … Recovered a fumble on punt coverage vs. Miss. JUNIOR SEASON (2000)
Made a strong transition from tight end to defensive end, seeing action in all 11 regular-season games as well as the Peach Bowl … Started seven times during the regular-season … Finished with 24 tackles (eight solo) and one sack … Came up with the first sack of his defensive career against Alabama … Had season highs in tackles with five against both Tennessee and Florida … Posted four tackles for losses including two against Western Carolina in the Tigers’ season-opening victory.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (1999)
The Tigers’ starting tight end to begin the season, he suffered a back injury off the field that forced him to miss the final eight games of the year after starting the first three contests … Made four catches for 45 yards, including one touchdown in those first three games … Against North Texas, he caught one pass for a 28-yard touchdown … Caught a season-high two passes against San Jose St. for 11 yards.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (1998)
A pleasant surprise for the Tigers in 1998, Kipps became a valuable offensive weapon as a freshman … Played and started in 10 games, missing only the Florida game due to injury … Made 16 catches for 180 yards and three touchdowns … Won starting tight end job after returning starter Joe Domingeaux suffered season-ending knee injury during spring drills … Became only the third LSU tight end to catch at least two touchdown passes in a season since 1987 … After starting first four games, missed Florida game due to ankle injury … Made three catches vs. Georgia (22 yards, 1 TD) and vs. Alabama (34 yards, 1 TD) … Made two catches each at Auburn (21 yards, 1 TD), vs. Kentucky (20 yards), at Notre Dame (16 yards) and at Arkansas (32 yards) … Scored one touchdown each at Auburn, vs. Georgia, vs. Alabama … Saw action on 485 offensive plays from scrimmage … Also saw special teams play, seeing action on kickoff return and PAT/FG protection teams.

Selected to the 5A All-State team, Lafayette Advertiser All-Acadiana team, The Advocate Super Dozen Honorable Mention Team, and to the All-District 3-5A Team … As a senior, recorded 553 yards receiving on 34 receptions, including three touchdowns … Caught 15 passes for 265 yards and a touchdown as a junior … Recorded 130 tackles, seven sacks and caused seven fumbles on defense … Coached by Bobby Green.
