SENIOR SEASON (1999)
Started first six games at cornerback and recorded 33 tackles with 2 interceptions … High tackle game of 10 at Georgia and knocked away 2 passes in that game … Made 6 tackles vs. Florida … Intercepted 1 pass in each of the first 2 games vs. San Jose State and North Texas … Declared ineligible for competition following the sixth game of the season … Was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

All-SEC defensive back who started all 11 games for the Tigers at free safety … Named first team All-SEC by The Football News and earned second team honors from the league’s coaches … Was named to Jim Thorpe Award watch list … Led all Tiger defensive backs in tackles and ranked second on the team with 82 stops, including a team-high 69 solo tackles … His 3 interceptions led the team in that category … Made 6 tackles behind the line and 1 QB sack … Led team in pass breakups with 7 and forced fumbles with 5 … High tackle game of 13 twice, vs. Georgia and at Notre Dame … Returned an interception 53 yards for a touchdown at Notre Dame … Returned a blocked Kentucky PAT attempt for an LSU defensive extra point, LSU’s first since 1996 … Made 11 tackles at Ole Miss … Against Georgia, made 13 tackles with 1 tackle behind the line and 1 pass breakup … At Notre Dame, made 13 tackles with 1 tackle behind the line and 1 interception … Interceptions came at Auburn, vs. Mississippi State, at Notre Dame … Interception return vs. Mississippi State set up a touchdown and pickoff at Notre Dame was returned for a touchdown … Forced a fumble on kickoff coverage against Arkansas State that set up an LSU touchdown … Saw action in 716 defensive plays from scrimmage, one of only two players to see over 700 plays from scrimmage (with Clarence LeBlanc, 733) … Also played on special teams with kickoff, kickoff return, punt return and PAT/FG block units.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (1997)
Started 9 games and played in 9 at free safety for LSU in 1997 … Second among LSU defensive backs in tackles with 64, including 3 behind the line … Intercepted 1 pass, vs. Florida … Started all but the Kentucky and Arkansas games at free safety for LSU … Made 1 of the Tigers’ 5 interceptions in win over top-ranked Florida … High tackles game of 12 in win over then-No. 1 Florida … 11 tackles with 1 pass breakup and a fumble recovery at Vanderbilt … 8 tackles each vs. Auburn, Notre Dame … Broke up 2 passes in Auburn game … Went out with ankle injury in second quarter against Ole Miss after making 3 solo tackles … Did not play in Kentucky game due to injury and did not play vs. Arkansas … Recorded 5 tackles in Independence Bowl win over Notre Dame and recovered 1 fumble.

FRESHMAN SEASON (1996)
Named Freshman All-America by The Sporting News … Selected as the SEC Freshman Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the Freshman All-SEC Team by the Knoxville News Sentinel … One of the most outstanding newcomers in the Southeastern Conference in 1996 … Moved into starting role at free safety for second game of season and excelled there … Led team in interceptions with 4 … Finished as team’s No. 5 tackler with 74, including 6 behind the line and 2 QB sacks … Third on team in pass breakups with 6 … Ran back an interception 85 yards for a touchdown against Tulane … Picked off 2 passes vs. Vanderbilt and recorded 5 tackles in that game … Also intercepted 1 pass vs. NM State … Played backup right corner in opener against Houston … Had an outstanding game in first start at free safety, recording 15 tackles in win at Auburn … Knocked down 4 passes in win over Miss. State … 9 tackles vs. NM State, 8 tackles vs. Alabama, 7 tackles vs. Miss. State … Started as free safety at Auburn to replace injured Troy Twillie, and never relinquished the position.
