CAREER
Two-year starter at defensive end for the Tigers … Played in 38 games with 23 starts in three years at LSU … Started 23 straight games at defensive end … Opted to forgo final season at LSU and declared for the 2015 NFL Draft in January of 2015 … Picked in third round (88th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft … Finished LSU career with 142 tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss (79 yards) and 4.5 sacks (27 yards) … Added eight pass breakups, seven quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and scored on a 25-yard fumble return … Invited to NFL Combine in February of 2015 … First name is pronounced “Duh-neal”.
JUNIOR SEASON (2014)
Played and started all 13 games for the Tigers … Finished fourth on team with 73 tackles, including 30 solo stops … Led Tigers and ranked 10th in the SEC in tackles for loss with 13.0 … Added 1.5 sacks, six pass breakups and a pair of quarterback hurries … Key component of LSU defense that led the SEC in total yards (316.8) and pass defense (164.2) and ranked No. 2 in the league in scoring defense (17.5) … Set career-high with 12 tackles against Auburn … Became the first LSU defensive lineman with double-digit tackles in a game since Glenn Dorsey had 11 tackles against Ole Miss on Nov. 28, 2006 … Opened season with seven tackles in 28-24 win over Wisconsin … Helped the Tiger defense limit Wisconsin to 32 yards on 19 plays over final 27 minutes of the contest as LSU erased a 17-point deficit to beat the Badgers in Houston … Had six tackles and a sack against Mississippi State … Scooped up a Dak Prescott fumble against Mississippi State and raced 25 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the second half against the Bulldogs … Was first LSU defender to score on a fumble return since Tyrann Mathieu did it on a 23-yard return in win over Kentucky on Oct. 1, 2011 … Had one of his best all-around games in win over Kentucky with six tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, a QB hurry and three pass breakups against the Wildcats … Forced a fumble in victory over New Mexico State … Keyed LSU to upset win over third-ranked Ole Miss with nine tackles, including two for losses, in 10-7 win over the Rebels … Had six tackles in overtime loss to Alabama … Closed out season with nine tackles, including one for a 4-yard loss, against Notre Dame in Music City Bowl.
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013)
Played in all 13 games with 10 starts … Broke into the starting lineup in week 4 against Auburn and never relinquished role … In first start, had career-best eight tackles and a quarterback hurry in 35-21 win over eventual national runner-up Auburn … Opened season with four tackles and 1.5 tackles for 6-yards in losses in win over TCU … Had outstanding all-around game in win over Florida with seven tackles, one tackle for loss and two pass breakups … Had six tackles against both Ole Miss and Furman … Closed year with four tackles, including a sack for a 4-yard loss, in win over Iowa in Outback Bowl … Had 1.5 tackles and three total tackles in regular-season finale vs. Arkansas … Finished year with 57 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss (32 yards) and 3.0 sacks (20 yards) … Added five quarterback hurries and a pair of pass breaksups.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2012)
Played in 12 games with no starts … Saw action in every game with the exception of the South Carolina game … Finished with 12 tackles, including three solo … Most of his action came on special teams, including kickoff coverage … Had three tackles in win over Idaho and two stops in wins over Towson and Mississippi State.
