SENIOR SEASON (2008)
Started 57 games at third bases and two at shortstop, batting .297 (73-for-246) with 14 doubles, four triples, six homers, 45 RBI and 56 runs … batted .286 (4-for-13) in the College World Series with one double, one homer, two RBI and three runs; his CWS homer led off the Tigers’ opening-round game vs. North Carolina on June 15 … hit .429 (6-for-14) in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional with one double, one homer, seven RBI and three runs … a member of the 2008 SEC Community Service Team; active in several projects, including ALS Walk to promote awareness and search for a cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease … recipient of LSU’s Wally Pontiff Jr. Award as the team’s best all-around student-athlete — posted a 3.3 GPA in communications … recorded a 10-game hitting streak (May 3-May 17) … also posted a nine-game hit streak that ended April 11 at Ole Miss … missed nine games (March 28-April 6) due to a strained hamstring suffered in UNO game on March 26; returned to the lineup on April 9 at Southern Miss.
JUNIOR SEASON (2007)
Started in all 56 games at shortstop, batting .279 (53-for-190) with 10 doubles, one triple, five homers, 26 RBI, 30 runs and seven stolen bases … established the LSU single-season record with 13 sacrifice bunts; the previous mark was 11 sacrifices held by Dave Cunningham (1987) and Josh Dalton (1999) … launched game-winning three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning at Alabama (March 30); the HR came against Bama ace Tommy Hunter and lifted LSU to a 5-4 victory … delivered game-winning RBI double – his second 2B of the game – in the top of the ninth inning at Mississippi State (April 21), sparking the Tigers to a 6-5 victory; he was 3-for-5 in the contest with two doubles, one homer, two RBI and one run … 3-for-4 with a career-best five RBI in win over Southern Miss (March 10).
SOPHOMORE SEASON (2006)
Started all 59 of the Tigers’ games at shortstop, batting .280 (63-for-225) with 11 doubles, three triples, five homers, 33 RBI, 41 runs and five steals … voted second-team All-SEC by the league coaches … delivered two game-winning hits for the Tigers in wins over Southern (4/4) and Arkansas (4/28) … launched walk-off solo homer inside left-field fair pole in bottom of ninth inning vs. Arkansas (4/28) lifting LSU to a 7-6 victory … walk-off HR was first by LSU since Clay Harris vs. Ole Miss on April 16, 2005 … game-winning single in bottom of the eighth inning in 3-2 win over Southern (4/4) … nine-game hitting streak from April 16-30, batting .351 (13-for-37) with three doubles, one homer, five RBI and seven runs … capped a four-run ninth-inning rally at Florida (5/18) with an RBI single to give LSU a 7-3 lead … helped LSU to series sweep of Auburn (5/7) with two doubles and a run in Game 3 … 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI in come-from-behind win vs. Tulane (3/7); along with J.T. Wise, provided back-to-back homers in the sixth … scored a team-high four runs and reached safely in every at-bat vs. Centenary (2/14) … tied a career high with three hits in season-opening win vs. North Florida (2/10).
FRESHMAN SEASON (2005)
Appeared in 44 games (38 starts), batting .246 (32-for-130) with six doubles, one homer, 14 RBI, 18 runs and two stolen bases … 3-for-5 in NCAA Baton Rouge Regional game vs. Marist (June 3) with two doubles and one RBI … hit safely in 21 of his first 25 collegiate games, including a 10-game hit streak from March 25-April 9 … first career homer in 18-10 LSU victory over New Orleans (March 29) … 3-for-5 vs. Nicholls State (Feb. 12) with two runs and one RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL
A four-year standout at 5A powerhouse Jesuit High School in New Orleans … as a senior, batted a state-high .505 with seven homers and 34 RBI leading the Blue Jays to their third consecutive district championship and another state tournament appearance … shined on the mound, recording a 10-0 record and throwing a one-hit shutout in the 5A state quarterfinals … played on numerous all-star teams, including Baseball America’s World Wooden Bat squad and the Bill Hood Louisiana All-Star team in June of 2003 … was invited by Baseball America to play at the National Showcase in Lincoln, Neb. … spearheaded Jesuit to the 2002 5A state title as a starting shortstop … compiled a .385 batting average on the 2002 season and hit .469 at the state tournament in New Iberia … also lettered one year in track and field as a javelin thrower.
