MLB Draft: 23rd Round in 2019 (San Diego Padres)

Two-sport standout who also played safety for LSU’s 2019 National Championship football team … a very skilled baseball player that knows how to play the game, which combined with his natural athletic ability … played in two seasons for the LSU baseball squad, but elected to leave the team in March of the 2021 season after appearing in five games … selected in the 23rd round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres … played in 13 games (two starts) at safety for the LSU football team in 2019, recording 10 tackles and one pass break-up.

2021 Season
Appeared in five games as a reserve outfielder, going 2-for-4 at the plate with one double, one RBI and three runs scored … doubled and produced an RBI in March 3 win over Southern.

2020 Season
Played in 10 games (seven starts), batting .231 (6-for-26) with one double, three RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases … made four starts in center field and three starts in left field … 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI, three runs scored and one stolen base vs. Louisiana Tech on Feb. 26 … recorded a hit, one RBI, one run scored and one steal in LSU win over Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 23.

Ranked as the No. 23 baseball player in the country by Perfect Game and No. 40 by Prep Baseball Report … as a senior on the baseball diamond, hit .480 with 10 home runs and 41 stolen bases and was named the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association’s DII-AA Mr. Baseball … named 2018 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football in Division II-AAA; he’s the first player in Tennessee history to earn Mr. Football and Mr. Baseball honors in the same season … led his football team to a state title appearance as a senior with 1,835 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns as a receiver and punt returner … competed in the 2019 Under Armour All-America baseball and football games, and he also competed in the Perfect Game Baseball All-America game in San Diego.
