A tough, hard-nosed and gritty player that provides great leadership behind the plate … throws like a big-league catcher and can shut down anyone’s running game … has proven to be a tough out at the plate and his hitting has improved throughout his career … LSU’s primary starting catcher in 2020 and 2021, he was limited by a knee injury in 2022, but returned in 2023 to play a major role in the Tigers’ National Championship drive … played in 183 career games at LSU (125 starts), batting .219 (86-for-393) with 10 doubles, one triple, one homer, 46 RBI and 71 runs … named to the 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021 SEC Academic Honor Roll, and to the 2020 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as a sport administration major … earned his bachelor’s degree from LSU in the fall of 2023.
2024 Season
• Played in 50 games (31 starts at catcher), batting .267 (28-for-105) with four doubles, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored
• LSU posted a 24-7 record in the 31 games Milazzo started at catcher
• Voted to the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional All-Tournament Team at catcher, batting .300 (3-for-10) with one RBI and one run scored
• Collected five hits, including a double, in the SEC Tournament (May 21-26) with three RBI and four runs
• 3-for-10 with a double, two RBI and two runs in Ole Miss series (May 16-18)
• Provided a clutch RBI single in the eighth inning of Game 2 of the Texas A&M series (May 4), extending LSU’s lead to 5-3 in the Tigers’ eventual 6-4 win … Milazzo had earlier scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the seventh, breaking a 3-3 tie
• Batted .364 (4-for-11) in Auburn series (April 26-28) with one double, two RBI and two runs … led off the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 2 with an single and eventually scored the game-winning run on Josh Pearson’s walk-off single
• Singled, walked twice and scored two runs in April 21 win at Missouri to clinch an SEC series victory
2023 Season
• Enjoyed his best offensive season at LSU, batting .289 (28-for-97) with one double, 15 RBI and 21 runs scored … played in 53 games with 25 starts at catcher
• Played in six College World Series games with five starts behind the plate … batted .267 (4-for-15) in the CWS with two runs scored … was 1-for-1 with a single, two walks and two runs scored in the Tigers’ 18-4 win over Florida (June 26) that clinched the national title
• Hit .500 (3-for-6) in the Alabama series (April 28-30) with three RBI and four runs scored … he also walked twice, posted a .625 on-base percentage and delivered a sacrifice bunt to drive in a run … Milazzo’s two-out RBI single in the seventh inning on April 30 broke a 9-9 tie and lifted LSU to a 13-11 win over Alabama
• Posted three 2-hit games in an eight-game period from April 23-May 12
2022 Season
Hampered by a knee injury for most of the season, he played in 12 games (nine starts at catcher), batting .227 (5-for-22) with four RBI and five runs scored … provided two RBI in Southern series (Feb. 26-27) … collected two hits and scored a run in win over Towson (Feb. 25) … produced two RBI in Maine series (Feb. 18-20).
2021 Season
Played in 52 games (47 starts at catcher), batting .135 with four doubles, one triple, seven RBI and 13 runs … threw out 14 base runners attempting to steal and picked off one runner during the season … doubled, drove in a run and scored a run in win over Auburn (May 6) … collected first career triple on May 3 versus Southern … doubled and scored a run in April 24 game at Ole Miss … contributed two RBI in win over UL Monroe (April 20) with a single and a fielders’ choice grounder … also threw out two runners in the ULM game, one attempting to steal and the other attempting to advance on a pitch in the dirt … collected a double and two RBI in win over Nicholls on Feb. 27.
2020 Season
Played in 16 games (13 starts at catcher), batting .186 (8-for-43) with one double, one homer, six RBI and nine runs scored … played superb defense, throwing out five of 10 runners attempting to steal and picking off two runners … belted first career collegiate homer – a solo shot – on Feb. 29 vs. Baylor in Houston’s Minute Maid Park … recorded a season-best two hits in LSU’s Feb. 28 over Texas in Minute Maid Park … collected a double and three RBI in LSU win over Indiana on Feb. 15.

A four-year starting catcher Zachary (La.) High School … ranked as the No. 3 player in Louisiana’s 2019 class by Prep Baseball Report … received a national ranking of No. 127 by Prep Baseball Report and No. 305 by Perfect Game … a 2018 and 2019 All-State selection by the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association … voted to the 2019 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All State Team … led Zachary High in hitting in his senior season with a .432 batting average, .541 on-base percentage, .664 slugging percentage, 37 RBI, three homers, three triples, 15 doubles and 27 walks … a 2018 and 2019 Baton Rouge All-Metro Selection … a 2018 and 2019 First Team All-District 4-5A and the 2019 District 4-5A Co-MVP … recorded Baseball Factory’s #1 ranked national “pop” throwing time at 1.74 seconds … named to the Rawlings Southeast Region All-High School Senior 1st Team … participated in the Team USA Tournament of Stars and the National Team Trials in the summer of 2018 … also played two seasons for the Zachary High football team at quarterback and free safety … finished high school with a 3.7 GPA.
