DALLAS – A total of five Tigers won individual races during Friday’s Finals, to go along with a clean sweep in the relays at the SMU Invitational. To go along with the wins, three Tigers made their way onto the Top-Times List.
200-Yard Medley Relay
The women’s team of Cassie Kalisz, Olivia Paskulin, Helen Grossman, and Olivia Taylor got the night started with a bang by taking the top spot with a time of 1:39.75. The men’s team of Matt Klotz, Jack Jannasch, Lewis Clough, and Brooks Curry followed suit, winning the men’s medley relay with a time of 1:26.74.
400-Yard IM
Jolee Liles touched the wall in 4:22.92, an eight second improvement from her time in this mornings prelims, to finish in ninth place. For the men, David Boylan placed fourth with a time of 3:52.43, which is the sixth best time in school history. Isak Vikstrom finished in seventh place with a time of 3:58.13.
200-Yard Freestyle
Katarina Milutinovich took the top spot with a time of 1:47.68, which ties for the eighth best time in school history. Summer Stanfield and Kit Hanley also qualified for the ‘A’ Final finished third and fourth with times of 1:49.82 and 1:50.26. In the ‘B’ Final, Alyssa Helak and Natalie Kucsan placed 12th and 16th with times of 1:51.41 and 1:52.35. In the ‘C’ Final, Emily Van De Wiele finished in 19th place with a time of 1:51.92. Lexi Daniels, Kylie Bennett, and Johannah Cangelosi swam in the ‘D’ Final and finished 25th, 29th, 30th with times of 1:52.24 and 1:53.71, and 1:54.06.
For the men, Brooks Curry took the top spot with a time of 1:36.08, which is the fourth best time in LSU history. Been Hooper finished in eighth place place with a time of 1:38.89. In the ‘B’ Final, Lewis Clough and Keagan Finley finished in 12th and 13th place with times of 1:39.69 and 1:39.79. There were four Tigers in the ‘C’ Final. Trent Schachter came in 18th place with a time of 1:40.32, Thomas Roark in 20th place with a time of 1:41.53, Michael Petro in 22nd place with a time of 1:42.23, and Julian Norman in 23rd place with a time of 1:43.36.
100-Yard Breaststroke
Niamh Robinson improved from her prelim time of 1:01.89, which was the eighth best time in school history, with a 1:00.63 to move up to number seven all time and win the event. Paskulin, ellen Pack, and Emily Pye also swam in the ‘A’ Final and came in second, fourth, and eighth place with times of 1:01.71, 1:02.97, 1:04.53. In the ‘B’ Final, Maddie Clifton came in 10th place with a time of 1:04.29. In the ‘C’ and ‘D’ Finals, Allie McDaid came in 17th place with a time of 1:04.59 and Isabella Buttaci came in 32nd place with a time of 1:08.93.
For the men, Luca Pfuffer and Jannasch finished fifth and eighth in the ‘A’ Final with times of 54.62 and 56.50. In the ‘B’ Final, Cameron Karkoska swam a 57.22 to place 15th and Jeff Snoddy swam a 55.26 to place 16th. Brian McGroarty raced in the ‘C’ Final and came in 27th place with a time of 1:01.46.
100-Yard Backstroke
Kalisz claimed another win this season in the event, winning with a time of 52.98. In the ‘B’ Final, Ellie Baldwin, Brittany Thompson, and Alexandria Ham placed ninth, 13th, and 15th with times of 55.38, 56.28, and 56.91. In the ‘C’ Final, Van De Wiele finished in 17th place with a time of 55.44, Grace Horton in 18th place with a 55.73, and Katie Smith in 22nd place with a time of 57.32. In the ‘C’ Final, Cangelosi came in 32nd place with a time of 59.55.
On the men’s side, Klotz and David Wahlen finished first and second with times of 47.58 and 48.64. David Wahlen swam in the ‘B’ Final and finished in 11th place with a time of 49.42.
800-Yard Freestyle Relay
To close out the meet, the team of Milutinovich, Stanfield, Liles, and Taylor took the top spot on the women’s side with a time of 7:20.75. For the men, the team of Curry, Hooper, Finely, and Karkoska won with a time of 6:33.16.
Men’s One-Meter Springboard
Dakota Hurbis improved upon his best score of his career to set a new mark of 313.00 to finish in fourth place. Manny Vazquez finished in sixth place with a score of 307.40.
Women’s Three-Meter Springboard
Aimee Wilson finished in second place with a score of 345.75.

“The team came through tonight with tremendous synergy that really seemed to lift some performances through the session. All of our medley relays had solid swims and splits and that carried over into the individual swims. I was really happy with the resolve at the end of the session with both sides winning the 800-Free Relay. Those were some tough swims as many of them already had two 200s under their belt in the session.”

“Today we showed some excellent progress as well as some inconsistencies – which is something I would expect at this point in the season. I am proud of Aimee setting a new personal best this morning in the prelims which was also the second highest score in LSU history. Both Dakota and Manny securing spots in the finals will give them some great experience. I’m looking forward to our first competitive opportunity on platform tomorrow.”
