AVONDALE, La. – It’s become a tradition as part of the Zurich Classic Wednesday pro-am at the TPC of Louisiana.
On the course and serving as caddies for some of the players and top amateurs were members of the LSU women’s golf team along with Head Coach Karen Bahnsen and Assistant Coach Alexis Rather.
The year was no different as Bahnsen and Rather were joined by players Nadine Dreher, Elise Bradley, Madelene Sagstrom and Sydney Cavin. They served as caddies for PGA Tour winners Jonas Blixt of Sweden (who had LSU senior Sagstrom, also of Sweden on the bag) and Jason Day of Australia. Also in the group, in town for the day was LPGA star Lexi Thompson, who also received the caddy treatment from the Lady Tigers.
In past years, the Lady Tigers have caddied for such stars as Vijay Singh, Justin Rose, Bubba Watson and celebrities such as the Mannings, Zurich executives and comedian Bill Murray.
Play begins in the 72-hole event on Thursday and runs through Sunday. The Golf Channel and CBS Sports will have coverage of the event.
