Auburn, Ala. – The LSU diving team finished strong as Juan Celaya-Hernandez picked up his second win of the Auburn Diving Invitational on platform. With the win, the men and women won five of six events at the meet.
“This was a good meet for where we are at this time of the season,” said diving head coach Doug Shaffer. “I saw what I needed to see, and we competed well for three days of competition. We now have some important and well-deserved time off with family.”
Celaya-Hernandez won the platform event by more than 20 points, diving to a score of 384.75. Matthew Phillip was right behind him in second place, scoring a season-high 362.30.
Lizzie Cui had the highest-placed finish on the women’s side, finishing with a score of 232.95. Jolie Blodgett dove to eighth overall and a score of 185.55
Next up for the divers is the Georgia Diving Invitational, which will be held in Athens, Georgia, on January 4-6.
