HILTON HEAD, S.C. – LSU senior women’s golfer Lana Hodge just missed a top 20 finish Sunday, finishing in a group T21 after the final round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

Hodge posted a final round of 3-over 74 to finish at 8-over par 221 on the par 71 Long Cover Club layout with rounds of 71-76-74. Hodge finished at 3-under on the par 5 holes and had 10 birdies for the 54 holes.

The Lady Tigers finished the tournament with a 10-over 298 to finish the event at 51-over par 903 and 13th place. Alabama broke out of a 36-hole tie to win the tournament’s team title be two shots, successfully defending their Rucker title, with a 7-over 859. Duke was second at 861 with Arizona State another four shots back in third.

Senior Caroline Nistrup had the best round for LSU on Sunday with a 2-over par 73 to finish at 9-over 222 (73-76-73). LSU also counted on the final day a 75 from freshman Monica Dibildox and a 76 (which included an eagle 2 on the par 4 18th hole, her ninth of the day) from junior Sydney Cavin.

Cheyenne Knight of Alabama shot 65 on the final day to capture the individual title with an 8-under 205.

The Lady Tigers will next take to the course here in Baton Rouge, March 24-26, with the annual LSU Tiger Golf Classic at the University Club.
