COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M took advantage of 21 points off turnovers, 18 second chance and 14 fast break points to score a 92-62 win over LSU here at Reed Arena Wednesday night.

LSU falls to 9-6 (1-3 in the league), while A&M is now 9-6 and 1-3 in the league. The Aggies were the only home team to win in the Tuesday-Wednesday group of games.

Texas A&M shot 56.7 percent for the game (34-of-60), including 20-of-29 in the second half. LSU posted just 36.8 percent (25-of-68), starting the game 9-of-30 in the first 20 minutes.

Antonio Blakeney was the only player in double figures right near his average of 17 points and a game co-high seven rebounds on 7-of-15 shooting with two treys. Duop Reath had nine points, while three players – Jalyn Patterson, Wayde Sims and Skylar Mays – had eight each.

Five Aggies were in double figures with Admon Gilder and Tonny Trocha-Morelos getting 14 each. Chris Collins and Robert Williams had 12 each and DJ Hogg 10.

Collins had eight assists and as a team A&M blocked 11 shots and out rebounded LSU, 47-32.

The game started poorly for LSU as A&M scored six points in the first two minutes and jumped to a 13-3 advantage with 14:26 to go in the first half. A total of 28 fouls were called in the opening 20 minutes and the Tigers couldn’t covert there going 7-of-15 with A&M posting 13-18. After A&M built as much as a 16-point lead, LSU was able to knock the game down to five at 27-22 on a couple of free throws by Sims, but the Aggies scored the next six points to take it back to 11 and LSU could get no closer to eight.

A&M led at the half, 43-27.

The teams traded an A&M layup for a Blakeney three pointer and then A&M piled on the next 11 points to take the Aggie lead to an unreachable 26 points and the game played out from there.

LSU is back at home Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. game against Alabama that will be broadcast by the LSU Sports Radio Network and televised on the SEC Network.
