BATON ROUGE — Fomer LSU All-American forward Durand “Rudy” Macklin will be the guest speaker Tuesday when the December Tipoff Luncheon with LSU men’s basketball coach Johnny Jones is held at the L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.
The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversations are open to the public and presented by Hub International.
Macklin, whose jersey number is retired above the playing floor of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, was on the NCAA Final Four team and 40 years ago last month set the LSU record for most rebounds in a game with 32 versus Tulane.
The event will also feature Coach Jones speaking about his team and answering questions from the media and audience on hand.
The L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge is located off Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge and the event will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet is available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet charge is $14.95 a person. The buffet is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the casino area.
