CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – LSU’s Lana Hodge made a good season debut for the Lady Tiger golf team with a 1-over par 73 over the UNC Finley Golf Course at the Ruth’s Chris Lady Tar Heel Invitational Friday.
Also leading LSU’s opening day scores was Sydney Cavin who posted a 2-over par 74 on the first day of the three-day 54-hole event.
The Lady Tigers are in 14th place as a team after the opening day at 14-over 302. Wake Forest has taken the early lead in the event at 6-under par with Ohio State at -5 283 and Alabama third at 3-under 285.
Hodge is tied for 24th in the individual standings after her three-birdie, two bogey opening round as Jennifer Kupcho has the individual lead at 5-under 67. Cavin, who had 16 pars in her round of 74, is in a group at T35.
LSU also counted in the play five, count four format a 5-over 77 from Kathleen Gallagher and a 6-over 78 from Claudia De Antonio.
The second round begins just before 8 a.m. on Saturday with tee times off the first and 10th tees.
